Hi Pratheek! I'm sorry for all you have gone though. I know it is very difficult. I have lived with OCD a very long time before knowing what it was or being ready to get into treatment. In my experience, no matter how long or what your age is, it is possible to get relief. I tried on my own, but that did not help much. Working with the right therapist, an OCD trained specialist, and one I feel comfortable with, has been making a difference.

I hope you can find a therapist who has training in treating OCD near where you live. Although, it would probably be done as teletherapy, so they don't necessarily need to be nearby.

Also, check out the International OCD Foundation's website, iocdf.org, which has great info, as well as their YouTube or FaceBook channels for great videos! Their live streams with experts are awesome.

You are not alone and this online community understands the pain of OCD. I hope today is a great day for you!

Thanks a lot taking ur own time to read my profile I'm very greatful to you that giving me courage strength and to fight with OCD I have faced lot of insults from family members relatives even friends too , I have fed up a lot from this OCD if I think or remember past thoughts I will get upset and ocd is different compared to each and everyone it differ so we cannot guide ocd community particular medicine .actually I too had very teenage say 17 or 18 yrs old. It started myself and my friend went to see movie name is " Never ENDING STORY " while watching movie suddenly a rock blasting and theatre operating guy given more sound immediately I got scade my finger started swelling and started stomach burning sensation and bloating next day started vomiting and admitted in the hospital after that my scare action started really it is a self punishment kind of disease actually if I get any doubts it was like 50 / 50 for example after drinking tea while going out side suddenly I mind says see wheather tea cup is there on the table or not I use to sneak 20 to 30 times one day I myself started thinking a cup on the table i kept on the table it is not movable but my fear was i may eaten the cup this type of thoughts use to punish me a lot like this where ever i go if i see any object i use to see it's there or not then it was going very worst stage then i started taking medication after taking medication my anxiety started reducing day by day and my mind use to be more relaxed now also I'm in the medication life is going on but i lost everything my goals achievements and i use to cry a lot why god is punishing me i hate bleddy OCD it is killed my happiness not going out mingle with friends or eat myself alone it was distrubing my mind actually if I started writing old experience I hate to remember

To come out of this ocd diesease we have to take a challenge with thoughts we must think it is just illusions nothing else during this period anxiety level increases after a few hours itself calm down still I'm fighting with this listening to abstract thoughts I'm very glad that I have more friends and well wishers are there to come out of ocd

Hi Pratheek

My heart felt sympathies to you for all you have suffered due to your OCD. It is a terrible isolating condition but you can get help. The way people behave around OCD sufferers is born from a lack of understanding and insight. It is a condition where the severity of its impact on a person life is so misunderstood. Underlying all OCD is severe anxiety. If you could try and get some literature to educate yourself as there is loads of help out there.

I truly hope you get the help you need so you can regain some peace and enjoyment of life.

Kindest Regards

Pratheek, thank you for sharing so much. It is definitely a very challenging condition, but many, many people who have had very severe OCD have gotten better. That should give hope to all of us. You are right about facing the thoughts. You are not your OCD. You have a lot to offer the world.

I'm so sorry you are having a tough time. I had to start reading these posts today so I didn't feel alone in my own suffering. It's hard because even with us all having ocd, all of our ocd's are so different. I never feel like anyone one could ever understand mine and I wouldn't know how to even explain it. I can't imagine not having the support of family or a close friend in your corner. I struggle so much even with a strong small support system. You are so brave for getting help. I have to tell you finding the right medications is so key and I go to psychiatrist. It's a long process but worth it. Therapy is really helping me currently but everyday is a struggle. The best advise I have is you are not your thoughts. And don't be scared of what your thought are telling you. I know it's easy to say but it does help.
