I'm nearly 62 years old; this is a deliberate use of the word old....

I'm no longer me, no respite from pain, insomnia, fibro fog, pins and needles, hypersensitivity to noise and bright lights.

Added to this I also have Hypothyroidism with these symptoms: fatigue,increased sensitivity to cold, constipation, dry skin, weight gain (over 3 stone), puffy face, hoarseness, muscle weakness, elevated cholesterol level, muscle aches, tenderness and stiffness, pain and swelling in my joints, menopause for 16 years, severe depression, thinning hair and loss of eyebrows, flat and brittle nails.

I'm also gluten intolerant, allergic to Penicillin, chillies, wasp stings and some polythene carrier bags ie the very cheap type with powdery coating.

Is there an answer? Any respite please?

A rough lot you've got there. I sympathise.

Are you on treatment for your hypothyroidism?

Have you had your cortisol levels checked?

What are you doing with your diet etc. for your menopause symptoms?

Chronic pain/fibromyalgia (and all its body-wide symptoms and weird sensations), insomnia and depression I have a lot of experience with.

I've always had pain, and like you played sports and rode horses (with a lot of falls contributing to the cumulative damage on my body). I'm short of time now, but I've written a fair bit here (and in other posts):

I've got better by learning to use my body better. It's been a long slog, I had a lot of damage on my body and my range of movement was severely restricted, but little by little I've released the pain and feel better than I ever thought I could.

It all started from finding my body's Base-Line - working with my pelvic floor muscles and rectus abdominis muscles from pelvis to chest. Stronger and longer with every in-breathe.

I became aware of feeling the relative position of my body's midline anatomy - and how unaligned it was. I was twisted, compressed - in a terrible physical state. But through gentle movements and focusing on the 5 main muscles of movement I have slowly healed.

Being in water, doing a few Pilates moves (the ones that felt good, never straining or trying to do things I wasn't able to do at the time.)

I'm happy to answer questions, discuss more etc but as I say my time is short today, sorry.

5 midline markers to find on your body and start to feel your physical state of alignment and balance. Bottom to top:

1. Pubic symphysis.

2. Navel.

3 + 4. Xiphoid process of sternum, Jugular notch of sternum (the bottom and top of your breast bone).

5. External occipital protuberance (midline bump on the back of the base of your skull).

5 midline markers for alignment.
