Natural Depression fix

Has anyone that finally accepted they may have depression found a more "natural" way to help them out of a funk. Natural because I don't want to have to do the whole "taper down" if I get off of the med I can just stop taking it. I am already on 20 freaking meds. And I don't mean "natural" in the sense of "go outside and lay in the sun or go hiking or find a hobby."

Hi AriSmyelin I think you are talking about alternative/complemtary therapies, right?

I think so? I guess something that I can turn to when it hits. For instance I am not always feeling that way. But sometimes it hits so hard and I mostly wanted something to help those times. However, there are times when the cause of the depression can make me feel depressed or sad/hurt/whatever emotion for much longer periods of time.

hey AriSmyelin I wish i had a good solution for you. I have not found any one thing that works for me. I am just living with it. Individual and group Therapy helps, friends, writing poems helps. taking Omega 3s, coQ-10, acupuncture and exercise. However that's what I do. If you're feeling suicidal, these will not be enough. Please see a professional asap.

Not suicidal at all. I promise. I think I was having a down day and felt comfortable enough to ask the group. I also greatly appreciate that you said you didn't find ONE thing that helps. And you found what works for you. I usually get. "Do this...." "Try this, it will help." Funny thing is, the people that say that are the ones telling me I need therapy when I never asked or said anything. Or when I finally did (but left out the depression thing) I was told I needed therapy....I was talking to a social worker/therapist in a group. Okay, yup I'm done. Lol

Most the time it's hard for me to not laugh at MS or life in general. But there are times that eventually it wares me down for a bit that I am just tired or need to as I once heard Jim Carrey put it "Take a break from me/character that I am depressed or have a deep rest."
