Like all things, it is a matter of weighing risks and benefits.
Thanks Hunter for your reply I’d rather he not take it he did take it for a about a month on March. I asked the local haematologist and he said it was fine? So I’m confused???

Mechanism of Action
inhibits type II 5-alpha-reductase, interfering w/ conversion of testosterone to 5-alpha-dihydrotestosterone
Any medication that is biologically active enough to help you also has the potential to hurt you. All medications have potential adverse effects. However, just because something can happen does not mean that it will happen. We always have to weigh the benefits against the risks.
Finasteride alters how the body handles testosterone, reducing DHT levels. This is why it is used for BPH and male pattern baldness, Your husband would have to decide if the benefit in terms of baldness justifies the risk of the known adverse effects.
Hope that helps clear the confusion.
Finasteride for bph can effect erectile dysfunction
Finasteride is good for hairloss but thats where the good ends. Hair transplanters are only interested in the hair of course. If you google around you will find websites dedicated to those you have post finasteride issues , or google post Propecia which is a brand name.I have looked in to Fin in the past and asked many expert hormone anti aging docs and they all say dont go near it. It can cause all kinds of issues with depression, impotence and a lot more. One of my docs is told me they used to prescribe it but have noticed that months after people stop taking it they can have all kinds of issues, some permanently. For example see website PostfinaasteridesyndromFoundation ,its just one but there are any others out there.
Your Haem is probably okay as it wont affect his bit ie haematology but hormone docs or psychaitrists who know about it will be saying different.
