I have friends using low doses of this drug and I have an appointment with a doctor that prescribes it. When I asked my Hematologist at Mayo about it they said this drug may be get approved sooner than later for MPN’s. Has anyone researched this or used it. It is a drug used for organ transplants but in very low doses is being looked at for longevity. One of the effects is lowering platelets and white blood counts which is my issue.

From a brief look, rapamycin is related to newer "2nd generation" therapies being investigated for MPN. It seems MLN0128 is one example. So it's possible MLN0128 is better suited for our needs than the older rapamycin. As in the 2nd ref, rap is an older drug.

But your Hem's note on its potential approval is interesting. Do you have more details on Dr's opinion?

It seems possibly potent (that can be good and bad) so would best be coordinated with Dr.

These all seem to be about mTOR, which is also targeted by curcumin and NAC as discussed in other posts.
