Hi, I had the flu jab three days ago and have felt awful ever since. Major headache, can’t seem to stay awake, mouth full of mouth ulcers and generally more aches & pains. Was ok beforehand. Hope you feel better soon x

I’m so sorry you had such a bad reaction. I have never had a flu vaccine but my boyfriend gets one every year with no side effects and is always telling me I should get one. But after reading all these posts, I’m not so eager to have one.

I haven't had mine this year yet... I'm booked to have it at the end of the month. In previous years - I'm the same as Dovme - last year I was fine with no symptoms, the year before that it was awful and I felt terrible for months.

Hello.

First I would like to thank everyone for their replies to my posting about feeling angry all the time the responses was so helpful.

I find this posting very interesting. I have never had a flu vaccine, I was diagnosed with ET in July this year and have been told I now have to have a flu jab due to being high risk.

I phoned my haematologist about this and he informed me that the flu jab is not live hence can’t give you flu.

This is now makes me feel confused and don’t know if I want to go ahead with the vaccine.

I agree entirely with your haematologist that the vaccine cannot give you actual flu because as you rightly state the vaccine is not live. Some people having it do get a sore arm for a few days and may feel a bit 'off' but it is certainly not 'true flu' wereby you would barely be able to funtion at all. Please don't feel confused about having it and if your still unsure talk to your Gp or nurse at your surgery before deciding. Best wishes, tina.🤗

My grandson is due flu vaccine at school he is 5 but as I am due to have a lobotomy this Friday we have been advised we should both not have it. My daughter had one a week ago and has been ill since.

Hi, I have never reacted to the flue jab before but Monday at 9am I had the jab, at 3pm I was shivering and feeling unwell. I contacted the GP, who two hours later rang back and said it was nothing to do with the vaccine because it's a dead virus that's used. All night and the next day it's worse, pains all over, sore skin etc. I tried to contact Macmillan because my temperature was fluctuating between 37.5 & 38.7, but couldn't get through.

Took about 48hrs. I am now back to normal, ( tired unwell self! )😉🤗

I had the flu jab for the first time this year. I was a bit worried about side effects but I was okay. It seems to be quite random how it affects people. Hope you feel better soon x

It’s a dead virus that’s used so you cannot get the flu from the vaccine. You may have already caught the flu before your vaccination but it wont be the cause of it.

I have never had a reaction to flu vaccines. Been taking them yearly for at least 20 years or so. I expect we are each variously reactive to them.

I’ve had the flu vaccine for the last two years and had no side effects at all. I asked my triage nurse and was told it is not a live vaccine so no ill effects would occur.

Haven't had this years yet. Appointment tomorrow. Been having the jab for years and usually just have a stiff painful arm. Sometimes legs are a bit achy, but not much else. This years may be different as its usually a different strain each year.
