Hello all

I mentioned that over the past four years, at the same time I started Hydrea I gained much weight and that my eyes, mouth, skin and nose have changed dramatically. I was also very ill with an undiagnosed bacterial pneumonia. Apparently I had it for about nine months but it did scare my lung. The were difficult years and it was a Doctor who I went to see because of severe shoulder pain. The Doctor diagnosed me with his eyes. My GP was closed for Christmas. This remarkable human being told me what he thought was the issue with my shoulder, and he was correct.

He politely asked me if I would mind if he took an Xray and a scan and I said 'yes'. And after so long of trying to find out what was going on this man did it. I don't Dr Jump and I never returned to him but I have never forgotten him, During all this time all my bloods were on the high side, there was no indication of an infection.

Regards

Anna

Dear Anna,

I hope you don't mind me asking, but have you ever had your thyroid function tested?

Go to Thyroid UK's website to find a list of signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism and see if any of them correspond with yours.

They also have a presence on Health Unlocked too. It is very informative forum just like this one.

I hope you find an answer to your problems,

Best Wishes

Hi Tertia

I have had it tested but it has been a while so I plan to ask for a test next Specialist visit. Thanks for bringing that up.

Anna

Don't really know if you have a good relationship with your usual GP, but it sounds like you had an experience with very good doctor. When you find a better provider, switching is not doctor-jumping. It is advocating for your own medical care. You have a fundamental right to do what is in your own best interests when it comes to medical care. If your regular GP is a great doc, by all means stay there. If this other doc really is better, then switch. Always go with the better provider. They work for you - not the other way around.

Ale the best yo you. Hope you get answers soon.

Thank you for all your help. I wish you all the best with your own health.
