Bmb results

Not sure what to make if this as been back today for my bone marrow results and only 1 result was back which was the liquid part I think and have to wait another week for the bone result.

She said my platelets , white cells and iron levels were fine but my reds are high .I asked her about jak2 and she said this was negative but still suspects pv as 1 in 20 still get it without being jak2 positive so not sure if this is a good thing or not but have to wait for the other result for a week . She did say I will need phlebotomy and aspirin but won’t Start that until my full bmb results are back

Hard to say without the results from the marrow back. It sounds like you are in erythrocytosis, but not in thrombocytosis nor leukocytosis. There are other conditions that can cause elevations in erythrocytes besides polycythemia. Once the test results are back, you should know more. Depending on the level of MPN expertise of the hematologist, you may want to get a second opinion. Most docs have little experience with MPNs due to their rarity.
