Today i had appointment with my hematologist and i just received a word from my doctor saying that "Its impossible that u have PV" the CBC reports is beautyful."
My RBC is 4.68(lab range 4.7 to 6.5)
HB=14. 6
And PCV=42.7
As my values are dropping down since phlebo 2.5 months before.
Wbc is slightly high but doctor said dont worry.its bcs of flue!
And most important doctor stoped my Aspirin 75mg from today on words.
Doctor still monitor me another couple of months and suggest that keep stopping smoking and drinking alcohol bcs my blood is recover very well after stopping my all habits.

Yes its really brilliant am quite happy,my hematologist said that its bcs of excess alcohol and moderate smoking.Alcohol can increase body iron level and cause excess hemoglobin And High MCV and also RBC s. Since am stopping it completely the blood starting recovering
I didn’t know that alcohol affected your bone marrow. I have been having 1-2 vodka and cokes a night so am now wondering whether that could have had an affect on me.
Hi Anneian, it is binge drinking that can have an effect on your mean corpuscular volume,(Mcv's) which count and measure the number of your red blood cells. Their are also a number of other things like lack of B12 and medication, particularly chemo drugs with hydrea being top of the list. Best wishes tina.x🤗

That is very good news. Just knowing that will make you feel much better and don't be afraid to have the occasional alcoholic drink from time to time, if you can control your intake, but please keep off smoking.
Yes occasional drinks are okay said my hematologist but not so often, bcs alcohol have an more toxic effect on my bone marrow, am quite happy that is reversible after quitting.
Hope that i just keeping good in future also, u still feel some mild MPN symptoms like headache or some shortness of breath but doctor said dont worry its probably due to Initial phlebotomy s
I hope that is good news for you. It should be good news if all numbers are normal and beautiful. But I am really worried about your low MCV, as well as mine.
A MCV number measures the average size of the red blood cell, a normal range is 80 to 98. When I was first diagnosed with PV, my MCV was 87.5. And now after 7 phlebotomy and then 5 months without phlebotomy, my most recent MCV is 60. I think that is way too low, suggesting my body is not producing normal and healthy red blood cell. I am really worried that my PV has turned into MF, Myelofibrosis.
But your MCV of 42.7 is even lower than mine!!! Do you feel fatique often during the day? Your blood stream would not carry enough oxygen with that low of a MCV reading.
