High CBC & Platelet Counts

I just recently did an analysis of all the blood work that I've had done since 2002 (total of 14 blood tests) and am not sure if I should be concerned at my results. From what I have noticed all of my CBC tests have been at the higher end of the range, as well as my platelet count. I have also noticed that each of my urinalysis tests have had a pattern as well. Is there anyone that can help me determine if this is something I should be concerned about? Please note that I am in America, so my results are based on their metrics and units of measurements.

Most Recent Results as of 1/16/19

WBC: 11.8 RBC: 5.39 HGB: 15.6 HCT 47.8 PLT: 478

Average of 14 tests from 2002-2019

WBC: 9.7 RBC: 5.3 HGB: 15.4 HCT 45.9 PLT: 425.7

Urinalysis

Out of 12 tests all them have had between trace, moderate or large amounts of urine, including up to 3+ Large

All of them have had some bacteria: between rare to 3+

All of them have had squamous cells ranging from 0-2 to 50-100

All of them had trace amounts of mucus from trace up to 2+

I also have a B12 deficiency: My B12 was at 260 in July 2018 and with injections has raised to 360 in Jan 2019.

I also have a D 25 Hydroxy deficincy: My D was at 16 in July 2018 and with 50,000 unit pill 1x weekly, I have raised it to 24 in Jan 2019

I have also had my gall bladder removed about 20 years ago

I have also experienced an un-diagnosed or confirmed reason for irritable bowel disorder for the past 20 or so years that I suffer from every day.

I have also experienced random nerve issues, from nerve pain at the tops of both my feet, tingling in my lips, cheeks, bell palsy, and both carpal & cubital tunnel syndrome in both elbows and wrists. Along with ongoing muscles spasms in my legs and abdomen.

From my research, I am worried about Polycythemia (which runs in my family) as well as Thrombocythemia and Pernicious Anemia... I'm not trying to over think this, but don't feel as though my doctors have taken me seriously over the years, but have not given me a reason as to why my counts are always high.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! I'm just really wondering if this warrants a visit to a specialist? I am not looking for a diagnosis, but more so if anyone thinks my numbers are concerning enough to see a Hematologist. Thank you!

Just as a general observation only it appears you could have an infection, possibly urinary. Reasons I say this (I am not a medical professional) is due to the high WBC and squamous cells. Normal squamous is 15 to 20 and anything higher could be a contaminated sample or infection. Which white cells are higher, Leukocyte, neutrophils etc? Infection can also raise platelet levels. Otherwise your CBC is reasonably normal. Are you male or female?

Interesting you should mention polycythemia running in your family. It is normally an acquired condition, not hereditary, but some families may be more prone to developing it. How many in your family have it?

Your lab results, as best I can tell, only indicate that you might have had a urinary tract infection. Your platelets are near normal. Low D levels can be easily corrected with a vitamin supplement and /or getting out in the sunshine at least 20 minutes a day. Vitamin B deficiency can also be corrected with a vitamin supplement. Also changing your diet to include foods that are high in these vitamins will help. Deficiencies in potassium and/or magnesium can cause tingling, twitches and cramps in your muscles. You could make an appointment with a nutritionist who can help you with changing up your diet, and you could help yourself by taking a good quality multivitamin daily. You may not notice a difference right away, as it takes awhile to build up adequate stores of vitamins and minerals that your body is deficient in.

Hope you feel better soon.
