I have been seeing a heamotoligist for almost a year now, after my GP noticed my platelets were raised consistently. I am triple negative for all gene tests and BMB in July came back normal. My platelets only ever got as high as 591, and are at the moment, 480. I am 53 years old and very frustrated at not knowing what's wrong with me. Infection and inflammatory causes have been ruled out. The heamotoligist is baffled and will bring up my case at their next big meeting. He wants to see me again in December and mentioned he may order another bone marrow biopsy to be done. Am I the only person this has happened to, and what else could be causing my platelets to be abnormally high? Any help or advice would be much appreciated!
