Demystifying Targeted Cancer Treatments

Anyone who found Dr. Adam Mead's presentation at the Living With MPNs Day as fascinating as I did, might be interested in a free online course hosted by Future Learn and compiled by Cancer Research UK called Demystifying Targeted Cancer Treatments.

futurelearn.com/courses/tar...

For anyone new to FutureLearn, it is a free educational platform that provides university quality information on a range of topics, but in an accessible way (i.e. you don't need to be academic to take part). One of the sections is entitled "The unique properties of blood cancers and the targeted therapies used to treat them" which sounds like it has our names all over it!

I am not qualified to recommend this course, but I just wanted to bring it to everyone's attention as it might be helpful. You need to decide whether it is right for you or not.

If any of you do sign up for it (did I say it was FREE!) it might be good to make yourself known so that we can follow each others posts and even support each other. I post under my "normal" name of John Williams and maybe I will see some of you online? Exciting times!

John

Hello John,

I could have listened to Adam Mead speak all day. It was indeed fascinating. I'll have a look at the course you mention.

Thanks for the information about the course. I've just had a great time browsing through the list of many of the other courses that are on the openlearn site. What wonderful opportunities there are to stretch the old grey cells and make life more interesting! Peter

Yes wow. Even though Dr Adam Mead’s was on just before me. I still managed to follow some of his informative presentation. Thanks for the free online link. I might just follow you 😜
