Diet?

Hi Everyone

I am reading up about healthy and anti cancer diets. I have a pretty good diet as it is, but I am looking out for any views on what might have helped others with MPNs. I am reading the anti cancer duet book which was discussed at last year's London patient forum..

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday afternoon.

Hello Holly. Yes of course it is by Dr David Servan-Schreiber. The Anti Cancer diet: A new way of life. I ordered it on Amazon - 2011 edition. I've just started reading it. There is also a website. Hope you find it interesting reading.

Hi in reply to your question.

David Serban Schreiber was a neuro surgeon who himself was diagnosed with a brain cancer when he was about 33.

He completely changed his diet and lifestyle and lived another 20 years.

His videos are worth watching on his website if you google him.

Hi

I changed my diet and lifestyle 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with histamine intolerance ( I've had PV for 7 years - the HIT was a result of a 9 month dose of antibiotics for a UTI - if I could shoot my GP I would happily do so! )

I now eat as many organic foods as I can but of course that 's not totally necessary, but I ABSOLUTELY don't eat anything ready made, processed, out of a tin or containing additives or preservatives - or chemicals.

Only fresh food, no gluten, no dairy apart from small amount organic butter, no wheat if I can help it. I do eat meat - organic chicken and lamb.

Wouldn't touch anything except organic chicken if I were you ( my dog now won't eat supermarket rubbish chicken !) and either organic fish or sustainably sourced - never farmed.

I drink 2/3 litres water every 24 hours and don't dri alcohol.

I also walk for at least an hour a day as briskly as I can.

David Serban Schreiber's book makes interesting reading.......

Certainly keeps me feeling well!
