Dear all,

I thought I had encountered most of the many difficult scenarios that we face related to being childless not by choice but I'm currently in the process of trying to move house and finding that is throwing up some new situations - along with the usual stresses of house moves! One of the key things I have realised is that the situation always seems to involve a feeling of isolation. I hope you'll join me in a meet up to show that we are not isolated!

Saturday 3rd August, 12.30pm at The Betjeman Arms, at the front of St Pancras station, London. Lunch at 1.30pm. Come anytime.

I will be wearing a yellow cardigan over my shoulders so you can spot me.

Menus available here: thebetjemanarms.co.uk/menus

Come along for a drink, coffee or food as you would like. Let me know if you'd like any more details about the meet up.

Best wishes, Sam (volunteer member contact - MTL)

(MTL - More to Life get togethers - for those childless by circumstance who have made the decision to finish treatment and not seeking alternative parenting options).

My dearest Sam.

I totally agree, being childless not by choice impacts so many areas of our lives in different ways and there are always new situations we come up against. Please remember you are not alone. Thank you so much for organising this Meet up that lets so many enjoy safe social gatherings. Sorry I am not nearer, as I would love to come along to enjoy the lunch too. Thank you again. Heatherx

Hi Sam. I can relate to how you feel as I moved in March to a bigger house and it’s lovely but it just felt so empty. I would love to join you for the meet up. I’ve never been to one before but would really like to come along. Is the venue easy to find?

Sam. Xx

Hi Sammylou, thank you for your note - it would be great to see you at the meet up! The Betjeman Arms pub is at the front of St Pancras station. If you're coming by the Underground - go to Kings Cross - the stations are next to each other.

Come out of Kings Cross station, head for the big taxi rank and cross the road at the traffic lights there, St Pancras station is right next door. Go up the big stairs that are straight ahead as you cross the traffic lights, and you're at the front of St Pancras station. The pub is immediately on your right as you walk up the big stairs.

Alternatively if you're coming by Underground to Kings Cross, and when you get off the train you walk to the exit for St Pancras station (not far). Follow signs for the Eurostar terminal. (There are some lovely shops opposite Eurostar terminal! - John Lewis, Whistles etc). At the shops John Lewis etc opposite the Eurostar terminal, go up the stairs to the floor above. You will see the actual Eurostar trains. Walk to the end of the platform, where the Eurostar trains stop - you will see some nice restaurants/seating areas, and the large bronze statue of 'the kiss!' You can't miss it! The Betjaman Arms is past the statue, on the far left in the corner - come through the doors in the pub.

If you're concerned about coming in the pub on your own - let me know what time you might arrive and I'll look out for you - I'll be wearing a yellow cardigan round my shoulders!

Hope to see you next week, best wishes

Sam
