We have migraines in our family but I was worried about my daughter. She is in her thirties with children and a busy working life.On the 'phone the other day These headaches only last a short while but the GP doesn't seem to know what they are.
Has anyone else experienced these?
Is it the way a particular manifests itself to your daughter and cold brain is the way she can describe it. I'm sure you may have done this, but, might it help to go through a list of every different migraine, and possible migraine aura and possibly epilepsy symptom, (broadly speaking, as some symptoms can be shared) known to man/woman, and see if they fit her description, then go back to her Doctor with that, as that may trigger someting on his side. It's distressing to watch the next generation suffering, my son has migraines too, at least you know that she has you and her doctor to help her.
Hi, I don't quite understand - but they could be something called ice pick headaches. They're very intense, short, sharp stabbing headaches. But self diagnosis is always a bit dangerous, though we migraineurs often have to do a lot of research ourselves - if you can, could you possible get your daughter to go to the National Migraine Centre? If the GP isn't sure & the headaches are causing interference in her life, and if migraines run in your family, best to get her some specialist help and advice which you will get at the NMC!
