ive never wrote a blog before, first time for everything...:)

i got diagnosed with cronic migraine 8 years ago i had bellys-paulsy when i was 18 and pregnant and never quite recovered from it i had alot of problems with my head, face a jaw throughout my 20's, i started suffering worse head pains as i hit my 30's so i got put under a neurolgist headache specilist and thats when he said i am suffering from cronic migraines they do not give me much peace some days are worse than others but sometimes i will get a 48 hour pain spree and that is agony for me to cope with, the tiredness is hard to deal with to as energy is always low, my doctor has put me on 2 tablets to try and help with the pain and i have to keep a daily diary sheet for him to, i also suffer cluster headaches and tmj, im a bit of a mess i know, it is nice to join a migraine site to talk to other suffers and hopefully not feel so alone with this dreadful illness....

Sorry you are having such a vile time. My son had continuous migraines for months. I did take him along to the migraine clinic in London, and this was helpful. I also used magnesium which helped quite a bit. Mary x

I grind my teeth as well and I think it makes the headaches worse

I,m going to go to the dentist for a mouthgurad to wear at night

If you grind your teeth at night, your dentist will know. A mouthguard will help this. My dentist got my guard made.

A book that I found hugely helpful when my headaches were ruling my life was How to be Sick by Toni Bernhard. Although it is based around ideas from Buddhism it's not a religious book as such (I don't do religion), bit about coming to terms with the effect that being I'll has on your life.

Hi Josie - I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a rough time of it. I completely sympathise as mine have got really bad lately. I had MOH from taking too many triptans and then had a record 19 migraines in Feb. Last month I had 14 headaches but only 4 of them were full blown migraines and so far this month I've had 7 but only one was a proper migraine. I like you am busy trying to find the right medication. I get awful side effects so am having to take the dose up slowly this time but it can be so frustrating. To make matters worse I've just been made redundant!

I know it can be hard - but I've found speaking to other migraine sufferers really useful and supportive. It helps me not to give up all this trial and error on meds. By talking about my experiences with others it allows me to keep on fighting but some days you just feel like you want to give up! I will not jack in the meds just yet though! We shall overcome!

Hi there that sounds such a lot to cope with, sounds like you re doing great though. I find a book called "stop thinking, start living" by Richard Carlson helps enormousley again in how to think and feel about things and how to handle being ill. Works a treat for me when I get awful silent migraine.
