Hello, I'm not sure of the ingredients of migraleve pink but they have never worked for me. If you wish to buy only over the counter and you are in the uk your wife could try Sumatriptan tablets purchased in packs of two. Please speak to the pharmacist first for further advice.

as below - pharmacist should be able to help - think the ingredients of migraleve are a painkiller and an anti-emetic - both of which you should be able to buy separately ... and probably cheaper to do so.

I get mine on prescription. I wonder why it isn't available? it may just be a local or temporary shortage.

Migraleve Pink contains Paracetamol, Codeine and Buclizine. Buclizine is an antihistamine which stops nausea, vertigo and dizziness (and is the only thing that ever works on those symptoms for me) and the other things help the pain. So if those are the main symptoms you could ask the pharmacist or GP for something else which does that. In the past I was recommended paracetamol and an anti-nausea medication. But I find paracetamol no use at all for migraine so I didn't go down that road.

As someone else said, you could try triptans, but I would recommend checking with the doctor to make sure they are suitable. If they are all right and work for you, they are better than Migraleve as they do usually stop the migraine if taken in time rather than just mask and alleviate the symptoms.

My doctor will no longer prescribe Migraleve due to the cost and he prescribes co-codamol 8mg/500mg and an anti-emetic.

Migratain over the counter if I run out of sumatriptan (prescribed).
