Migralenses?

Hello all,

has anyone ever tried MIgralenses or any other tinted glasses to deal with the effects of computer monitors and/or fluorescent lights so popular in offices? Would be interested in hearing from others' experiences!

Hi Alfred Hitchcock

Firstly I love your name. In answer to your question I have tried Migralense ( green shade) and Theraspecs (orange shade) both I found did not help me.

So then I had a colourometry test at an optitions which selected a tinted lens that suited me best. I hasd a prescription pair of glases made up with this tint I selected. The whole process wasn't cheap but they are so calming when worn under bright artificial lighting.

For me it was a case of filtering out the blue spectrum of artificial light and money well spent.

Hi, yes i have green migralense glasses. Best thing i ever done. My eye's are great. My migraines normally started with aura and the pain was aweful, I've had my glasses a while and hardly had an aura migraine. I have wraparound ones but if you wear glasses you can get them to go over them.

Wish i found these years ago.

Tried red, yellow and all golf lenses. Thank god i found these .

Be well

Hi,

I purchased migralenses glasses to fit over my normal glasses. Unfortunately for me they made me more nauseous and made my head worse within first minutes of wearing so had to return them. Everyone has different sensitivities so i’d suggest purchasing some as they do a 30 day money back guarantee.

I also went to opticians and purchased gradiated tinted glasses that are reddy orange ( darker at top to clear at bottom). They were for work indoors under fluorescent lighting and using screens. Unfortunately they did not help enough to stop me from having to go off sick from work. They do give everything a rosy tint and it is definitely more comfortable when being around general lights.

Hi. Haven't tried them but an interesting comment/research from The Migraine Summit earlier this spring was that they make your eyes MORE sensitive to light. If you wear them so much your eyes will feel more sensitive to light when you take them off.

I have mine on most of the day if it's bright outside. I don't have any issues at all when i take them off.

Had mine over a yr now and i honestly would have had at least 6 aura migraines a month, i haven't had one for 7 months so far!!

You should try them and see how you get on 👍

Thanks guys, that's interesting thoughts. I might go for the colourmetry test to check what I might react to. I'm also about to go on a sabbatical, if my headaches get better not being in the office, then I know the strip lights in the office are doing something...
