Vitamin b2 bliss

Hi All, I just wanted to share , I've been taking vitamin b2 400mg daily for my migraines for about 3/4 months now. The migraines have reduced dramatically even the pre menstrual ones have improved. I have no side effects other than yellow urine. I would advise anyone to give it a try.Better than all the tablets I've tried with nasty side effects prescribed. It may not help everybody but worth a try. Research shows that many migraine sufferers also are vitamin b2 deficient.

Hi Michmina, Vit B2 (Riboflavin) does work, though it has to be 400mg per day, like you said. Another supplement that will certainly bring relief is Magnesium. Butterbur is also another supplement that helps relieve migraines. Most migraineurs are defficient in Magnesium. So happy for you that you’ve been able to experience the difference supplements can make.👍🏻👏🏻

Yep, I supplement with Mercola Magnesium L- Threonate, much easier on the stomach, no side effects.

Is magnesium hard on the stomach? Or did you mean the B vitamin?

I find a lot of supplements that after taking them a few days can cause indigestion or even a headache. Usually because of all the extra fillers or in my case also the preservatives added. I tried a few different Magnesium supplements and found the Dr Mercola L-Threonate one of the better ones.

Thanks for the advice! I will try...any brand in particular? As long as it's 400 mg/day...

I don't care about yellow urine as long as the migraines stop. I will use the bathroom all day in exchange for relief. ☺

Hi , I just use Holland and Barrett 100mg but take 4 per day. I have used other brands when couldn't get to Holland and Barrett. I don't think brand matters although Holland and Barrett have some is offers on b vitamins such as 2 for £5 so cheaper than prescription drugs of you have to pay.

Hi Michmina - that's great news!

I also take B2... it's in the NICE guidelines also for GP guidance:

"Advise people with migraine that riboflavin (400 mg3 once a day) may be effective in reducing migraine frequency and intensity for some people."
