And addictive, illegal in some countries. I googled Kratom - it has some serious side effects like hallucination, vomiting, nausea.

Oh really 😱 i didn't find anything like that here in the UK. There are a lot of different types and a facebook page of people that use it for chronic pain.( firpmayalgia / neuralgia /clusters )

Apparently it depends on what one you use and how much.

Obviously don't want an addiction but you can buy it in the UK. It's part of the coffee family. I've been looking at it for a while. Cup of Tea in the morning seems to be all they have.

I'll keep looking into it.maybe speak to a herbalist.

Thans Liseanne13 - more homework i think 😆

in reply to Cally01

I live in Canada and the laws are different. Next time I see my doctor, I'll ask her if she has heard of it being used to treat migraines.

I'll have to start looking for a herbalist.

I'll follow this page. Maybe other people will have different information.

Yeah I'll do more homework. Just keep coming accross an organic wholesale place that sells it.

You know i think I'll actually join their fb page, probably learn more there

Be well 😆

Gosh !! Just noticed my spelling above ( striken by sleepy migraine head 😆 )

Hi Cally01

I went to the Health Food store and the owner looked it up. She said that it's most likely illegal in Canada because it's an opiate. She also said that it's the first time she's heard about Kratom.

Awe thanks Liseanne. I have been researching all day and easily ordered tea leafs from an organic website. Spoke to a chinese herbalist and he'd heard of it and said if you take loads it's like opiates ( just like myplane said below ).

Gonna try it in very limited amount i think 😆

in reply to Cally01

Hope it works for you. It would be amazing to live without these migraines.

I'll let you know. I don't know if my medical insurance covers chiro, or how it works, but the website doesn't state that it's free. I'll call Monday. Thanks so much - I'm very hopeful that this will help.

in reply to

Cally, I sent them an email asking them what the cost was, describing my symptoms and if they thought the treatment could help. So now I wait for Monday...

It's not an opiate. And it is legal in Canada.

Hey Cally, Don't listen to the bad hype that Kratom has been getting. There are a few bad effects if you take a ton of it, Just like if you take a ton of aspirin, but in smaller doses it is fine. If you take a bunch of it, it creates an opiate like effect but in smaller doses, it is just fine. So, I have been a Migraine sufferer since age 5 (51 now) and have taken everything from NSAIDS, triptans, beta blockers, vicoden, etc., and nothing has worked. My once every 3 months/3 day migraines have been gone for a few years (as is common in my family) but I have had daily moderate headaches in their place. Got too reliant on vicoden so I thought I would try Kratom. Kicked the opiates (and everything else) within days and now use Kratom sparingly with pretty decent results. My moderate headaches are now mild and I can function quite well by taking this tree leaf powder. I have also had zero side effects other than mild constipation. If your interested, try Maeng Da Thai Kratom from this site:

kratomcapsules.com

They are all pretty similar but the Maeng Da seems to be the best for headaches. Try one bottle of 50 capsules (25 bucks ). Follow the directions and, hopefully, reap the benefits. There are quite a few sites that offer Kratom powder. tea leaves, etc., so do some research to find the best prices, etc. This site is the only one I have found that offers capsules. Most offer the powder only (I make my own capsules now) and have pretty decent prices depending on how much you buy. Good stuff. Give it a shot.

I've been researching all day and have to say I'm with you 😆 i can't find anything that shows anything but benefits if you follow the rules! !!

I have tried everything to, i take very very limited triptans, opt for ice packs but I'm having to keep them on my head all day. Constant moderate headaches which build up to migraines oaft getting tired of it all. I'm 51 too.

Getting botox into my jaw soon, hopefully that will help but these daily headaches are giving me no life.

Thanx for the link myplane (lol ) I'm checking it out now 😆😆

Be well!!!

Yeah just like all meds if you over do it. Totally agree with Myplane150 .

Every pain killer can cause rebound you just have to be careful not to take too much.

myplane150 profile image
myplane150

Hey Ruhis, Just like any type of med, natural or not, I think that Kratom can cause a rebound headache if taken too much. If you take 3 or 4 capsule (approx. 2 grams) or a tsp. (up to 4 grams) at a time, you should be alright. Just like so many forms of self medication, don't overdo it and it can offer some relief.

Thanks is been Trial n error for me I've always had migraines but for the past year and a half I've had a headache almost every day and anything turns it into a migraine but I try anything

Ruhis I've had constant headache/migraine 24/7 for 3yrs and the eventually realised my jaw was causing it. In treatment now.

Be well .

Ruhis2013 profile image
Ruhis2013 in reply to Cally01

How did you find out that was the cause? Are the headaches better?

Cally01 profile image
Cally01 in reply to Ruhis2013

Well, it took a while,my face hurt, like my jaw felt tired when i spoke and my neck,, temples, shoulder was really sore and nothing took the pain away. I started waking with terrible pain behind my eyes and the bavk of my head and had a horrible headache wich was building to migraine every day. Then it was getting worse and i was having multiple migraines a day. No prevention med or painkiller helped but sumatriptan injections /tablets gave me a couple of hrs break but ice packs all over my head eased all the pain. Got an mri and they confirmed no cartridge on left jaw. Had couple of ops, now have locked jaw, on trial for new thing called cerezen, jaw opens more, less migraines but constant headache is still there so their going to botox masseter musckes with 25 units each side and they say that should sort it.

Your dentist should be able to advise if you have tmjd - look up the symptoms. It mimics migraine.

Good luck 😆

Do you make your own capsules if so where do you order your powder and where's the best place to order your powder I make my own capsules and I usually order just the powder and make it myself because I know what's in it

myplane150 profile image
myplane150 in reply to Ruhis2013

Hey RuHis, I buy powder from allnaturalartisan.com/ by the kilo and fill my own capsules. One kilo makes about 2000 capsules of which I'll make 2 or 300 every couple of days or when I need them for traveling. I also make tea with the powder or just get a teaspoon down with water (DO NOT INHALE powder).

Ruhis2013 profile image
Ruhis2013 in reply to myplane150

Which one do you recommend

myplane150 profile image
myplane150 in reply to Ruhis2013

If you've never tried any of the powders, you should try a bottle of capsules first for 25 bucks or so from this site: kratomcapsules.com/

Maeng Da is supposed to be the best all around. I like OG Bali and Red Dragon. Experiment with a couple of strains. Once you find a product you like then get some bitcoin via circle.com as you will need it at allnaturalartisan.com/ since that is all they accept. Experiment for 20 to 25 bucks for capsules then buy a kilo or two for approx. $120 which will last a long time. No pressure but the gov't is looking to ban Kratom so you might want to act fairly quickly. Their justification is crap and is being fought tooth and nail but you never know. Good luck...
