'managing the pain'

Hi, I've just joined in the hope to find some help in my quest to a headache free life... I have had a daily persistent migraine every waking hour for the last 4 years. I've had scans, tried so many tablets, acupuncture and too many alternative therapies to list. Was hoping something might crop up on here...

Me too! Almost 4 years. I literally feel your pain.

I've tried so much stuff too. Botox and gon blocks, acupuncture, chiropractor massages etc. Spent thousands.

I have a bunch of stuff that helps me get by more easily I can recommend.

Theraspecs glasses

Ear plugs

Cefaly device

Head massager!-those spider like ones I just put it on my head and walk around with it on in the house!

4-head stick from boots (just the stick their other products don't won't for me)

I also find my accupuncture and chiropractor helpful

Mostly doing yoga every day has helped the most. I've literally grown inches since doing it and I think my spine being all squished up and my neck being so forward is pretty much linked to the pain.

I'm trying a mindfulness for health 8 week course I bought the book on audible. That has some pretty good stuff on there. It's by vidyamala Burch.

Meditation and mindfulness actually change the way our brain responds to pain. It's worth a try! Xxx

Wow, I have just joined this site and I've never thought of yoga daily. I suffer with chronic migraines, and like many others nothing seems to cure me, I do like the idea of daily yoga to help. It's it a particular programme you follow?

Kind regards

I found a teacher I really liked and then joined a monthly coursewith him, we meet every month about 10 x a year and do a weekend and then go away and practice what we learnt every day. It's called sadhana (which means daily practice). I'm based in London but I'm sure wherever you are there's plenty of yoga. I'd recommend a gentle hatha vinyasa style yoga. But there's so much difference between teachers even within that so look around till you find something that makes you feel interested and curious.

I love it. It's like a mixture of physio and osteopathy and chiropractor and therapy all in one for me.

It's basically saved my life...dramatic but completely honest. As you can imagine the horror of daily migraine...And chronic pain.

Gosh, poor you. I assume you're under the care of a headache-specialist neurologist and aren't dealing with this on your own with sporadic visits to a GP? Just want to check you have been referred to a proper consultant, eg. someone like Dr Mark Weatherall at Charing Cross Hospital London (you can google him).

I also had the daith piercing and it has definately helped mine. Like you mine were almost daily for the last 3 years. Had it done 3 weeks ago and have had 3 very minor ones and 2 of those were the day after having a couple of vodkas. I would advise anyone to give it a try as you have nothing to lose apart from the city st I f the piercing. metro.co.uk/2015/11/10/do-y...

Triptons especially Rizotripton( Maxalt MLT)will get rid of pain and migraine once they start, but wont stop their occurrence and they usually wont give u more then 2 a week because they can cause rebound headaches, but I wonder why that really matters if you have daily migraines. Hi. You might like to try the daith piercing. Google it. It's definitely helped me. I had it done 3 weeks ago and have had 2 minor ones since and that was because I foolishly had a couple of vodkas. I know it's early days and holding my breath but I am getting less sceptical as time goes on
