Can headachs be connected to Virtigo

Hi there, I'm nearly sixty years of age, about 10 years ago I started to get headachs when I drank, not wanting to give up this pleasure entirely I stopped drinking what I was drinking, red wine mainly, and moved onto vodka tonic. After a while I couldn't drink these either, so I moved onto beer. Now I allow myself one beer a night, not a particularly strong one, and Nothing more. ( I still get headaches just not from the alcohol)

Now this also conincided with getting Virtigo, again about 10 years ago, after a series of treatments I found a good physician in New York who rid me of my problem, as far as the dizziness is concerned, and it has not reared its ugly head in 2 years, but I am wondering if the headaches are connected to the virtigo, I get a headache at least once a week which does not go until I take a Maxalt Melt, it is always on the left hand side of my head and it is a very dull, heavy pressure, pain, not the sort that puts me to bed but still impossible to function, so as I said I resort to Maxalt, I hate this pain killer.... it hurts my mouth and makes my heart beat fast, but it does deal with the pain.

So does anybody else have similar symptoms? Has anybody got any ideas what this might be. Believe me it's not diet.....except alcohol which obviously dries me out.

By the way, I also have to drink a large amount of water, about three to four litres a day otherwise I get ....... yup a headache!

Boring so say the least. And always needing a loo๐Ÿ˜„

Hey there ๐Ÿ˜† yup!! I get vertigo with my migraines too.

Here's a thought though, might be relevant! ! My husband has never had a migraine but everytime he has a beer he gets extreme vertigo and a terrible sinus infection, doc said it's the yeast !!

You know what I've just read your reply again and I'm going to try cutting out all yeast......maybe it's yeast sensitive.

Hell no beers?๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–

I get vertigo along with my migraines, they said it was laberynthitis and loads of antibiotics later....nope!! No infection lol it always lasts as long as my migraine.

My husbands vertigo can last 1-2 wks just with one beer. He doesn't drink now, nothing is worth that he says ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Good luck ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

The beer doesn't give me a headache, as long as I don't drink too much. I have heard of a yeast problem, but don't suffer myself from that.

So did you get Virtigo first, and then Migraine? I have only just made the connection today after reading some article on Vertigo.

Does this mean there isn't anything I can do to stop the headachses?

Wow I have always lived in hope that I would crack it one day.

Are you all sure that it's alcohol/yeast related at all? I'm suffering the same at the moment but I only drink when I'm out with friends, maybe once or twice a week... could this trigger the 3 week long migraine/virtigo I have currently? โ˜น๏ธ

Aww I feel for you, know exactly how you feel, after my last Botox 3months ago I haven't had a day without headache and migraines at least 2 or 3 days a week!!! And to top this vertigo, the tables I'm on for them do help!!

Not not sure at all, just clutching at straws.

Sometimes I think the migraines start because of stress.

So you see, cant be sure of anything.

Stress makes mine worse....but only stressed because of having them and it's not just that they wipe a couple of days a week out of my Calendar which I then can't work and earn!! Viscous circle!!๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Wish you luck with yours๐Ÿ‘Œ
