Just searched for this on the site and found hardly anything.

Does anyone ever get the sensation, when you've got a migraine, that your hands / feet / mouth / lips are huge!? I don't get this every time I get a migraine but it seems to be happening more and more often.

#curious

Hi Nic, yes, I have often had this sensation, but never linked it to migraine! Never had it during a migraine, but it often happened at night. Used to get sleep paralysis and awful nightmares as well.

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism a while ago, (great fun, not) but since being on treatment for this the sleep paralysis and odd sensations have disappeared.

Curiouser and curiouser, annie x

I don't get it that often but when I do it's very strange! I usually get it either just before a massive headache or just after, when it's easing off. Keeps things interesting :)

I'm glad to hear that your treatment is working for you. Sounds awful.

Thanks Nic, Migraines are awful, still on a (supposed) preventer, it doesn't always work. I just found this, looks interesting migraine.com/blog/alice-won...

Take care, annie x

Ha, I like that! It explains it really well.

Very strange sensation! And hard to explain to people who haven't had it.

Take care yourself :)

Keep smiling.

Hi Nic. Never experienced this and been a sufferer for 30 years. I'm the opposite, my feet and hands are always freezing. Even a hot water bottle on my feet doesn't have much effect. X
