I'm not sure if I had the injections in the facet joints or not but they did give me loads of injections of anaesthetic up the length of my spine and neck so it sounds similar at least. They said it had a 50% chance of working but unfortunately it had no effect on me.

As it happens, after a bad year, of my first CGRP injections failling, I've just been given the loading dose of a diffrrent one and it really seems to be working. I hope things work out for you to!

I was getting migraines from my neck so they thought the facet joint injections would help. They did c1,2 & 3 both sides. The procedure made me a lot worse. It definitely was not the right treatment for me.

So sorry the injections didn’t help you. I thought I’d posted a reply ages ago but I’m not very good at this techie stuff! Can hardly look at the screen really

I do hope you found something that has helped you and thank you for your feedback as I am feeling very nervous about it and unsure what to do

Hi there Headache123. I have actually had this procedure done. I was given a numbing agent rather than steroids. It actually works pretty well for a while and it helped my migraines.I did wear off after a while And I had to get a second injection done. However, I would recommend it because it did help my migraines. I know it seems like a scary procedure, but if you have the right doctor I guarantee it won’t be so scary.

hi are you being offered these on the NHS? I also have neck issues but was told facet joiny injections weren't offered on nhs anymore as not enough evidence of efficacy. I couldn't afford to do it privately. I compromised by having cheaper Botox injections into my neck and upper traps on my back. That didn't work either!

Hi Caro

Not sure if this message has already gone up to you! I’m not very good with this techie stuff.

Yes I am getting it on the NHS in London, through my pain consultant, not sure if they’re available where you are and if so it may be worth asking for a referral to them

Good luck!
