Gabapentin

Hi there

When I search most posts about Gabapentin are quite old. It's been suggested to me as a preventative. Other preventatives have helped me initially then either the effects worn off or I have experienced side effects that meant I had to stop.

Anyone taking it now? Thanks

I started to take it last week and have already noticed a reduction in migraine aura.

I took some before but it is so damn expensive .have you tried nortriptyline

Did you stop it because of the expense rather than it not working. I haven't heard of nortriptylinecaltgough amytriptyline didn't work for me.

I joined Migraine action and in their January 2016 mag they quote a nice guideline update saying not to offer Gabapentin for the prophylactic treatment of migraine as its no better than placebo and commonly associated with adverse effects.

I was told that Gabapentin is to stop the pain but not the migraine or dizziness!

Hi there, I take Gabepentin for another condition but I take proprandol for migraines. But both have helped! Hope you find something suitable soon. (Gabepentin makes you gain weight)
