Methotrexate is used to treat autoimmune conditions like Psoriasis, Crohn’s Disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis or Cancers of the Lung, Breast, Head and Blood. It’s from a family of medicines called antimetabolites and has a wide range of side effects, some very serious. It’s usually taken once or twice a week rather than daily, and is often taken when other treatments have not been successful.
