Just when my mental health was improving this happens

I have been waitImg fo my esa benefits to be sorted out they are now saying that they have no record of me declaring my income protection plan.have just received a letter from them saying that they need me to send all the details off this plan or just give them permission to contact who do the plan I have decided on the latter.the problem is I can’t get out to post it and at the moment have nobody to post it.where I live is a retirement home but with extra care if needed.we had a post box but when a new postman took over he said it was not his job to empty it so we can’t use the box .the management here keep saying this is not a care home but then they say the hot water has to be set at a certain temperature I would love a hot steamy shower but can’t so I say that are the rules for a care home.asked the manager is she could post the letter as it has to be in at a certain date or it could affect my benefits was told that they are not allowed to take letter from residents to post .so I can’t get it posted.i came back to my flat and cried even thought that I can’t go on it just makes me so angry the people here are supposed to help people.now I can’t stop worrying about my benefits my mental health in less than one day has put me back a long way it’s lucky that all my meds are locked away as if they wasn’t I would not be posting this.all because of one letter I have gone backwards in my health.

Hi John, I’m so sorry to hear about what’s happening to you and I’m so sorry I can’t help and give you any advice. I’ve commented because I really hear your pain and my dad was in a care home but the night staff were brilliant and would do him favours and the head nurse would do things like post letters. It’s such a simple thing to do for you and they should be deeply ashamed for not helping you and enabling a letter to upset your mental health so much. They are there to help not hinder. Have you told Esa the problem you have getting them the letter as the state everything is in at the moment because of the virus they may have something in place that can help you. I really hope you get somewhere and somebody’s help and your feeling better.

Take care XXX

Thanks for your kind words the reason they can’t post letter for anyone its the rules my sister has it’s the same where she works.if someone falls ill here or has to go into hospital.and you know the person well and who don’t see the for a few days and you say to a member of staff oh I haven’t seen George for some time is he all right the staff say I can’t tell you the latter one you find they have died .one person who used to go to another flat to se someone had not seen their freind for sometime bumped into a member of their family one day said how is John have not been Able to contact him and they said oh he died a few days ago.it all this data protection.my agrophobia mentor forgot my flat number on day the staff knew him but weren’t allowed to tell him my flat number.i asked the benefit office if there was a way to get the information to them like email was told no we can’t do this a place like that you would have thought it would make their job easier to have documents sent by email then have to open hundreds of letter .

Hi sorry to hear this. What i would do is ring them tell them the situation and ask if you can email this. If they say no ask for an extension of the time allowed. If you do manage to get it posted send it recorded delivery or one where they have to sign for it. That way they can't claim they haven't received it. When I was on benefits I got receipts every time as they are very good at losing paperwork.
