Is it normal to be sort of extremely angry over what someone has done or said like , if someone was to say something or do something that was going to annoy me or wind me up in that sense to feel like I have to act out to punch, hit, kick something punch my own hands or slamming something down very hard to cause damage. I think I’ve described it as best I can but is it something to have to talk to someone about or what? I’ve always felt like my angry gets out of control and I don’t want to get to that point but sometimes it just happens

Hi Horse

I have a bit of an angry side to me as well.

I’ve adhd so the anger just comes from absolutely no where.i tried to explain this to a therapist once and his answer was “you have to control the building up of the anger”

This is what I’m saying to you.there are many articles on aggression and anger and how to control this as it builds up inside you.

I guess your personality determines if you’ve an uncontrolled urge to break things and kick out.

It’s not really the done thing to go around lashing out and physically kick some one as physical violence has never really solved a situation.

Perhaps send them a text or sit down with them and explain how you feel.

But they do say turn anger and aggression in to somet else like write down a poem listen to some music.

Music I find is a good one for getting the anger out of your system.

I hope this helps

I wish you the best of luck

Hi Horseare,

I think you know already that to have such uncontrollable anger, especially if it is a regular occurrence, is not normal. Anger is a complex emotion and often it masks underlying emotions such as Fear, Trauma, Shame or feelings of worthlessness.

I strongly suggest you research information on how to become more Assertive to help you calmly voice what you are really wanting to say or do.

Also, do try and get professional help; perhaps start by talking to your Dr so he/she can rule out any hormonal or Mental Health issues. Your Dr may be able to refer you for Counselling to help explore the underlying feelings you are suppressing and to help you gain control over your anger before it does real harm either to you or someone else!

I hope this helps. :-)

Thanks I just feel like if I talk to a dr about it and they say it’s nothing then I’d just feel even more stupid but I would like to know

I get angry too. Break and throw occasionally. Temper tantrums.

So heavy metal and running now have been my new thing.

Find a new healthy outlet! ♡
