Can you help the crying?

So I've been crying everyday for the past 2 months, sometimes more than once and it is full on sobbing. Originally I didn't have the low moods with it but now I am feeling sad because I keep crying. Not pregnant or anything, doctors have sent me back for CBT but I'm on the waiting list and don't know what to do in the mean time. Any suggestions or anyone experienced similar?

Have you any idea why you are crying ? you need to have some idea why you are weeping and sobbing.

Are you going through any problems at home, work or are you in Middle Age or similar.

What are the reasons for a course of CBT.

A re you feeling overwhelmed with life in general. I have seen people cry when listening to music where a piece has a family memory etc

Try next time to sit down and right down the reasons you are feeling distress.

In the distant past I knew someone who began crying for no real reason, it was very unsettling She would say She was crying because She was so happy !!!!

Yeah there's no real reason for the crying, it happens at the most random moments. No problems at home or anything. Going to CBT for anxiety mostly but when I'm crying I don't feel anxious.

Sometimes people cry to release stress, or Anxiety sometimes even when flustered.

Are there any activities you are undertaking ? In my case id my eyes or sore or in anyway tired my eyes will run, this is made by dryness of the eye, I yawn and tears wet the eyes and can trickle down my face, this is not caused by any upset it is generally caused by an automatic action of yawning or similar

Look for causes and try to remove obstacles in your past but better to cope with present, the now and not worry about the future - mindful meditation may help you on youtube - just google or start praying - it may make you positive - whatever works for you

Pegasus,

That kind of crying is exhausting to both body and soul. I think Bob's suggestion to write when you can is worth trying, even if you can't identify the reasons for your tears. You might try writing to the therapist you will eventually see. The history your journaling can provide may be very helpful to finding a solution, and the process may ease your sorrow in the mean time.

Might there be any on-line therapists with you could speak? CBT might not be the best approach for you. If you do have access to other therapists, you might find one who fits your needs.

Hi Ruth, thanks for your comment. I like the idea of writing to the therapist and keeping track of everything that's been happening.

I have been writing to my therapist in journals for years now. I know everyone is different, but I find that I can express myself much more clearly and thoroughly in writing.

I hope you feel better soon. Crying can be a release, but it sounds as if you have a whole different level of weeping going on.

Hi I'm sorry you've been feeling like that, have you got a family who can support at this time. If your waiting for CBT it could be sometime. You need to go back to your doctors and see if he can prescribe something for you, if your already on medication maybe you need it increased until you get over this blip. Take care of yourself.

Thank you so much! I think I am gonna go back to the doctors because I'm kind of stuck for the time being. I have family and friends who support me a lot and they're saints for putting up with my crying
