We can keep each other going and ourselves too with a little bit of effort.

I like to find a nice comfortable spot, grab a mug of cocoa, and listen to "A Christmas Carole " Listen, not watch. and I also enjoy watching "The Nutcracker . Christmas doesn't have to be about parties or shopping. Sorry if I'm preaching. Pam

I was medically retired on the 31/12/, the first day as a Registered Disabled Pensioner was 01/01/ it was a very uncertain period for me, also Hazel. I had been unable to work again from six months before. Christmases can be hard times for many disabled.

On Christmas Eve, Christmas Night and New Years Eve I like a strong Beer and a triple Scottish Malt Whiskey if possible. A couple of Christmas Sweet Mince Pies goes down a treat as well. Pax enjoys His walks and gets excited, looking forward to His Christmas Dinners

At last, I am in despair, I am of the strong opinion that Christmas is not about sales, trees or lights. While I appreciate the festive season (unlike Scrooge I am definitely not a 'bah humbug'), I do not believe that Walmart or Universal Pictures should not direct me in how to have a good time at Christmas.

I want to give and receive a modest amount and eat an equally modest amount as I already weigh too much and I am pushing the diabetes risk (or even pulling it towards me)

I admit I will go out for a drink but I have NEVER gone out to get drunk - getting drunk was a by product of socialising

I do have an uplifting quote from a piece of Victorian humour don't get me wrong, I have always been a peace on Earth kind of guy but in case you have ever wondered why cracker jokes are so appallingly bad, they were designed that way as funny jokes tended to offend someone (even the Englishman, Irishman & Scotsman jokes could be racist) have a think about the funniest story/ joke you ever heard and I will guarantee there is a butt

I know what crackers are, the table gifts at Christmas, but I didn't know jokes went with them. I love to offend people perhaps I could start a new tradition. Pam

Good post sweetiepye , I think where ever we are in the world on Christmas Day just pause for one moment and think how lucky we are compared to some other people the sick , homeless , yes we have our own problems and we battle on and have each other on here to talk to , I for one reflect on the year I have had and look to the future because we all have one x

Well, Christmas season’s gonna be super hard for me as an anorexic with all the turkey and potatoes and chicken and chocolate and pudding and- you get what I mean. I have a suggestion- search up ‘chi bird motivational gifs’ they will make your day- I have a ton of them saved to my phone.

Our family has made many changes over the last few years in how we celebrate the holidays. We limit our meals and our desserts for the one large Christmas dinner, Christmas eve we do appetizers and drinks. Christmas morning we do brunch and I go in my nightclothes. We buy one gift and limit it to 25.00 . grandchildren are the exception, their parents get them more, grandpa and I stick to one gift but a bigger purchase. It has taken so much pressure off and is more enjoyable. We go to a church service, ride around looking at decorated houses. and I usually have a craft...each child picks an adult helper, not a parent. Last year we made sock puppets this year I'm thinking about ornaments. I just had to get out of that commercial craziness and the mindless meaningless that Christmas was becoming Pam

If you have any spare pressies, just send them to us, we are not proud.

Our past Christmases were generally spent abroad up until we left a dog we had rehomed. Since then we do celebrate Christmas at home. We have no family in this part of the country, my family, are not around. However we do celebrate Christmas by working out where we will go to with Pax next year, We are generally away on holidays about three months a year with visits to see Hazels Family. and off the cuff outings.

So it is quite a busy time, as we are looking into other diversions that will need a bit of planning. Christmas week I may be pruning and washing the fruit trees and bushes if bored or the weather is good

We put up our Nativities today and ran the lighting, so we are flashing well

Loving your post sweetiepye. I can't think of anything right now (Its nearly midnight here in the UK and time for "bye bye's" (sleep). ) But I will have a think about it.

This is about the best Christmas I have ever had. Not because anything special is happening because it isn't but because I have never felt this well mentally ever ; and that is at the ripe old age of 60!

I'm finally feeling well after all the difficulties of the past 59 years. So i'm smiling inside and out :) xxx

I think that Christmas carol and mug of hot cocoa would do wonders for you. You do whatever makes you happy this season. Enjoy the season with a gift to you. If that coca and music make you feel good, why not go for it?

I love nature. I love the beauty in a flowing pond or creek. I am an artist. I have found it very relaxing. I made a quote myself. It says this-TRUE BEAUTY-The beauty of a flowing stream of water is visible to the human eye. As humans, true beauty is within. I love that quote.

I also like that quote. We always seem to think the answers lie outside us when actually they are within.

I am really going to enjoy Christmas this year!! Last Christmas I was in so much turmoil that I thought the life I had could get any better and it just goes to show what can happen in the space of one year. I am sitting in a great job, working with lovely people and looking forward to my first office party on Friday with my new work mates. I has taken me the best part of 2018 just to get here.

I also made a lot of friends on here over the last year as I only introduced myself and found this site one year ago. I dont post much these days but Health Unlocked for me is like having lots of best friends you dont see all the time. You dont see them all the time but you know they are there if you need them (and vice versa).

I love lying on my sofa after the Chrismas Day celebrations. Boxing day with some chocolates, peace and Great Expectations on the telly. Its not exactly a Christmas movie but I just love it at Christmas and it doesnt matter which version they show - I love them all.

I hope ALL of my HU Friends have a great Christmas!! XXXX
