Has anyone tried it? Does it work?

Hello Fortal and welcome to this community.
I have seen this is the first time you have posted on this particular caring community. So welcome.
Can I ask please are you in Spain or the UK?
I can't speak for our other members but I know from talking with others in the past that it can work for you. It takes time and commitment but well worth trying it. Perhaps talking it over with your health professional would allay any concerns you may have about this type of therapy, and writing the questions down so that you have the full and comprehensive answers to all of your queries. Good luck to you.
Would any of our members like to comment please?
MAS Nurse.
Thank you, MAS_Nurse. I’m neither in Spain or the UK. Though I have lived in Spain for many years. Now I wonder if my profile shows any personal info..? 🤔 Does it say I’m in Spain?
i have tried it ,, this not work for me ,because at the time of the course my sister was very ill, and also passed away .
My son has just completed a 16 week course and it has made a little bit of a difference think if he had ha£ a longer course maybe even better I was very sceptical but I was surprised It is worth having a go He is 36 and had a very bad breakdown 4 years ago Good luck
Hi Fortal ( - your image reminds me of one Basil Brush ! ;~) ! )
"CBT" is not really a single 'therapy' by an umbrella term for a group of closely related ones with cognition and behaviour in common.
Its easy to start learning about these, esp. the main and longest esatablished type or school of it: REBT conceived and developed by the late Dr Albert Ellis (1913 -2007, R.I.P. !).
Try simple introductions to RET/REBT - many by Paul Hauck, who has written a whole series of slim, easy to understand books, published by Sheldon Press. Plenty of pre-owned copies available on site like eBay, rather inexpensively.
One, titled 'Overcoming Depression' would be a great start for anyone new to REBT ( - and the 'cbts' more generally). Note to whom that little book is dedicated !
Happy reading, . . . . . and best wishes for a fulfilling journey of self-discovery. These therapies do work, when understood and correctly applied in the right cases !
