Hi my name is Madalyn! and I have been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks a lot recently in my first semester of college. My anxiety attacks really scare me and I experience some derealization which I assume is my brains coping mechanism. I was wondering if any one else would like to talk with me about their experiences with either panic attacks or derealization. Either one would be much appreciated and help me better understand what I’m going through. Thank you!

Hi Madalyn!
Pls take a look at my profile! I have excellent resources listed there for recovering from all of this. Dr. Weekes audio (it's a video link called "Enlightenment") is my favorite. She calls derealization "Feelings of unreality". Hope you are feeling better soon!
is this the first time this has ever happened? First off I would start out by doing as much exercise as you can fit into your schedule ,exercise is excellent for relieving anxiety. If those things don't work then I would suggest you seeking a professional to talk to and the last resort is getting antidepressant / anxiety drugs
thank you so much for responding! I exercise a lot because I play college soccer, which weirdly a lot of the time I’m playing I feel anxious I think because of the pressure I feel is on me to preform. But I will try exercising by myself just for my own health and enjoyment and I’m sure that would relive some anxiety. I’m going to my next therapy appointment soon and am going to look into medications I’m nervous about side effects though.
