Feeling better

After answering some people's posts and replying to their posts, I feel like I have a purpose. Even though I am dealing with my own things, my own things are not as big as they once were when I reply to other people's stories.

I agree that a trouble shared is a trouble halved. I think of it like this. When you are lonely it is very common to talk endlessly once you do have company. I have a sister who does this. The trouble with that is after a short while the listeners attention wanders so they talk even more to get it back.

What lonely people need is not to talk more but a connection with someone else. The way to do this and keep their full attention is to listen more than you talk. That way they are focused on you.

The same goes on here. When you answer others it helps you too as the connection is stronger. Looking outwardsis important as depression causes you to look inward too much. x
