Everyone reacts differently to various drugs. My experience won't be yours. I do take this drug, but I would never recommend it to anyone else. It's a good question for your Doctor. Pam

Yes. I've been on it for a number of years. I don't think it does much for me any longer.

I took 20mg for 3 years,at first it was fine, but after a while they decided to decrease the dose, the 10mg was only to maintain a certain level,to keep a calmness. When i had a really bad episode of depression. The review found that it was not helping me at all.My personal side effects were weight gain. But as you will find, everyone reacts differently. Now i am on a high dose of Ducloxetine twice a day.My outlook on life is better,as i feel so much more like the old me.

, Hi there,

You might find this info useful from Mind UK mind.org.uk/information-sup...

Also, check out the emc (Electronic Medicines Compendium) medicines.org.uk/emc/produc... and if you click on the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) tab it opens as a pdf, which should be the same as the leaflet that came with your medicine box.

Talk to your GP, pharmacist or NHS 111 if you want to know more about your meds.

Remember everyone's experience with medication is different because our bodies react differently! There's no one size fits all, and so what works for one person, may not suit another. Keep a dialogue open with your GP so that he/she can adjust the dose or change the medication if it is not working. But give it time, it takes about 4 - 6 weeks to start to work, and don't suddenly stop taking antidepressants, as you may experience a rebound effect of your symptoms, it needs to be weaned down slowly and safely.

Hope this helps.

Side effects differ with each person what suites one will not suit another. Generally it is counter productive to explain how each drug reacts.

I take this medication and it is ok for me, I take 20mg nightly.

You are on 10mg, dependent on how long you have been on these medications an increase in dose may be given

If you need information look in the box the drug came in, you will find an information sheet have a look at that

Allow about four weeks for the medication to work.

I’m on Citalopram 20mg. At first it made my anxiety worse so I had a short course of diazepam as well. I also started taking it at night to limit the side effects. I started to really feel a lot better about 4-6 weeks in. It is different for everyone though. I’ve been on it for the best part of 10 years now and I feel I need a change. I have tried to stop but it doesn’t work for me. Good luck with it and don’t be surprised if you feel worse initially. Give things time unless you really can’t tolerate taking it.
