Something wrong

For the past few weeks I’ve not been feeling myself at all, I guess I feel like I’m in a sort of zone and different world to everyone else.

My body feels like it won’t stop moving I’m very fidgety and restless. My mind is either 100 miles an hour or nothing if that makes sense

I keep getting really angry and saying things I really don’t mean and I’m finding it hard to concentrate

I’m sorry if none of this makes any sense

I don’t really know what to do, I guess I’m asking for advice

The past couple of days it’s been a lot worse i can’t seem to think straight and I’m very tired

I’m 21 years old and have suffered with depression in the past aswell as bpd

I also have an overactive thyroid probably not relevant

It makes sense to me as I've felt like that at times. I'd say that you need to go and speak to your doctor about how you are feeling.

Also has anything happened to cause you to feel like this or has it just snuck up on you.

I'd also suggest going back and using any coping strategies that you have used in the past to help the last time you suffered from depression.

Take care.

xx

If you find yourself alone and really needing to talk please call a help line. There is a pinned post with helpful numbers that you can call. I thought those numbers were for people in a worse state than myself until I called. I wish I had called them sooner because they were so helpful, giving me time to think and a friendly voice to listen to my rantings.

If you try something and it doesn't work there are other things you can try. I definitely recommend finding out what is available in your area and to keep trying.

One day at a time.

Take care and keep in touch.

I cannot work out what is wrong here. What I would suggest however is you see your GP.

Explain how you feel.

It could be depersonalisation

Hi Moonstar,

Don't dismiss your overactive thyroid as symptoms include: nervousness, anxiety and irritability, hyperactivity – you may find it hard to stay still and feel full of nervous energy, mood swings, difficulty sleeping among others. So I would suggest you get this checked out by your doctor, as you may need a medication adjustment. This can be affecting your bpd and mood disorder. Again, have a medication review for these too. It's worth just checking so that your doctor is aware, and that treatments can be targetted appropriately.

Let us know how you get on.

Take care,

Thank you, I think it could be due to my overactive thyroid. But I’m not sure so I will ask my gp. Thank you

On the contrary an over active thyroid is very relevant and is probably behind most if not all of your symptoms. Are you getting treatment for this? A visit to your doctor sounds in order. x

I’m taking 20mg of carbimazole which doesn’t seem to be doing anything if not making things worse

I had a thyroid scan yesterday to check for nodules etc will get the results soon x

Over active thyroid is quite important.. It is your gas pedal of your body. Mindfulness and meditation, something that will bring you balance is what you need, hope this helps..
