Does anyone else experience a deep, unidentifiable sadness around a parent(s) (or grandparent, step-parent or other caregiver)? It does NOT feel like pain from a mental or emotional wound they caused from mistreatment. It DOES feel the like pity you would feel if a pet was injured and suffering. I've been carrying this discomfort since I was a very young child. It's so strange and seems silly, but it undeniably hurts.
Thanks!

Hi Emmy, yes I know what you mean, I've felt that overwhelming deep, saddening pain over a young loved one whose life is in chaos and whose behaviour is self-destructive. It's a pain right in the pit of the stomach, a sense of helplessness and sadness, not judgemental, just very sad.
Why do you think I could experience this at such a young age, before I even knew what "sad" looked like? You see what I'm saying? That's quite a confusing thing to me.
