Advice on benefits

I don't know if anyone can help but my question is...if I haven't got a job do I have to claim benefits?me and my partner where on income support and it's now gone to universal credit, because my partner is our daughter's carer as she has type1 diabetes they signed me up for job searches,I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 a few months ago after the trauma of nearly loosing my daughter,I took my sick note in today like they asked me to and they was saying I still have to see them once a week,I told them I can't as I dont leave the house so they said i could have the interviews over the phone,i dont want to sound awkward but I don't answer calls so all this is basically impossible for me,there's no way I can do that once a week for 13weeks so I've said stop my money because it really isn't worth it and just pay my partner his money,I'd rather have no money than go through this hell but they said that's not an option I either get a job or claim benefits but I really can't do what there asking of me,has anyone been in this situation who could have some advice for me.

Are you in the UK? If so get yourself an appointment with Citizens advice. They have helped me tremendously and I now receive PIP and ESA but am in the support group so no longer need to produce sick notes. The CAB are also helping out with my debt problems as I cannot manage money and having lost my job only in March have found it all a struggle. There is plenty of help out there and nice people as well. Chin up there will be a light at the end of the tunnel xx
