Edited: ** Trigger Warning** I can't cope.

I am nearly 18 years old and I officially cannot cope with life anymore. When I think about it, I have everything I need, and more, but my mind is to occupied by negativity that it constantly takes over, and over, I have relationship problems right now, I don't have any friends, I hardly see my family and the past to weeks, I have just been drinking myself to sleep. I don't know what I can do, I am suicidal as well..many times I have went to do it, but someone comes in a stops me. Please can someone help me?

Thank you

It is really bad when you see no way of going forward, nor things getting better. The feeling of not being able to cope can overwhelm everything. Use a help line to get help and support, they really can help, just talking about your problems to a stranger who will not judge you. If you are scared or do not like the idea, try an approach that does appeal to you. You don’t have to tell them everything. You can even just phone up for advice or to be put in contact with something that can help you.

I would suggest try to stop drinking yourself to sleep. Alcohol can cause more problems and give you more to manage. Try listening to music to sleep. Try meditation. Try some milk before sleep, make it nice make it special like a hot chocolate.

Start off doing one thing you really enjoy. If you want to chat I’m here.

Dear Keeley00, Please, you aren't even 18 yet and you have your entire life in front of you. I PROMISE, one day YOU WILL feel better! Suicide is permanent and it is NEVER the answer. Just think of all the friends and family who will be devastated if they lost you. You say you've tried many times, but someone always stops you. Why do you think they do that? It's because they care!!!! PLEASE Keeley00, if you're close to contemplating suicide, then call your local suicide hotline #. The one in the US is 1-800-273-8255. If you don't call, then, then please call your Dr. and tell him/her what you're going through. There's lots of help out there. You may need an antidepressant. Sometimes, we have a chemical imbalance in our brain that causes us to feel so rotten. You can't fix that by yourself or with any amount of alchohol.

I CARE!!!!! Believe me, I've walked in your shoes. My biggest regret in life is all the years I allowed depression and anxiety to have control over me. I allowed it to rob me of every ounce of happiness and now I'm older and my body is failing. I can't get out and even go for a walk. Oh how I wish I could get the years of my youth back.

You say you're drinking yourself to sleep? Whoever is providing you the alchohol is not your friend! Do you realize that the alchohol at your age is probably contributing to your problem? Please Keeley, I'm begging you to contact the suicide help line. The number in the US is 1-800-273-8255. I couldn't tell from your profile if you're from the US or another country.

I can tell you that you are not alone!

There are no magic answers. Try to stay away from people who bring on the negativity. Only time and the right medical help will help you, but you MUST take the next step. You've already taken the 1st step by reaching out to people here. There's a lot of people in this forum who will eventually read your post and reach out to you. Hang on Keeley00! We all really care!

Above all, dont let one more day pass before you get some immediate help. The Dr. can also give you something to help you sleep. Please ditch the alcohol. It only makes things worse. Please trust me. You're too young to be entertaining these thoughts. There's a whole amazing world out there that you have yet to experience. You must fight the urge to give up! I don't know you, but I can honestly tell you that I love you and I truly care! If I love you then I know you have friends and family who do too.

Fight hard Keeley00! Please seek help Today! My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you right now and always!

If you feel Suicidal it is important you seek help.

You can call NHS CHOICES on Tel 111, they will listen and decide what help can be arranged, They can arrange a Crisis Team to visit you or talk to you and arrange an urgent appointment with your GP. They can also arrange a visit to A and E by car or ambulance

You can also contact Samaritans, they will listen and help your through a bad period.

Drinking will just make your mood worse, so it is best if you can keep of the Bottle, drink makes us remorse

One thing I would suggest is you make an appointment with your GP, make a list of your concerns and that will prevent you missing anything out that is bothering you

Hello Keeley00,

Welcome to our supportive community. Well done for taking a brave step out to reach out for help. As you have begun to find folks here are only too willing to come alongside you and share from their personal journeys and experiences. I support the advice that they have already given to you.

I appreciate that you are a new member on the Shaw Mind Foundation, and may not be aware of the community rules and the wider impact of what you are saying. I would urge you to talk about your situation with a your doctor or mental health professional, so they can help you through this. You say that you are feeling suicidal, but from my reading of your post, you are still suggesting that you are considering ending your life as strong possibility.
