Hi I've been taking zopiclone for about 18 months only when I feel the need to. 3.75. But to be quite honest it sometimes doesn't work. Any idea if I can take 2 together?

Hello shish_first_42 and welcome to this community. It's important to take this medicine exactly as your doctor has prescribed. Maybe you could chat to your GP about a review of this medication.

This is a supportive community and our members will share their experience and wisdom with you. Perhaps it would help to tell us how you're feeling and why you're having trouble sleeping.

Take care.

Have you tried anti histamine (drowsy) to help you. Maybe ask doc if you can take both tablets together instead of uping your dose.

Sorry Cara, I need to say this. I tried antihistamine and yes it works but it damaged my stomach as I kept taking it everyday. I think its important that shish_ first_ 42 sticks to the medicine as prescribed.

Shish I know it is tempting to try something else or take more but these tablets zopiclone are very toxic. Doctors don't like prescribing them at all nowadays. I should know about this as I am addicted to them. I am now down to one but cannot come off them right now, but please don't start on any vicious cycle of increasing your dose or adding another med to help you sleep as all these meds damage our insides. X

Hi as I said to Cara 78 ,Shish I know it is tempting to try something else or take more but these tablets zopiclone are very toxic. Doctors don't like prescribing them at all nowadays. I should know about this as I am addicted to them. I am now down to one but cannot come off them right now, but please don't start on any vicious cycle of increasing your dose or adding another med to help you sleep as all these meds damage our insides. Eventually if you stick with it you will sleep and also I can tell you that lack of sleep is uncomfortable but not as damaging as you think it might be as eventually your body with right itself and you will sleep better after a few nights. zopiclone is a less addictive version of zolpidem. I take zopiclone. 3.75mg is the lowest therapeutic dose, really for serious sleep disorders anything over 5mg and up is suitable.

I suggest if you cant sleep some nights taking 3.75mg you don't increase your own medicine. that's not a good idea otherwise you wont have enough when you really need to sleep.

I would ask your doctor if they would increase the dose, tell them some nights you are up all night. its important to be able to sleep if you have a genuine sleep disorder, and your doctor will probably understand.

its also worth considering large cups of tea, coffee, energy drinks and alcohol will prevent the medicine from working as well.
