Try having a long drink, something like diet lemonade at various intervals during the day. Have a large glass each time. This should make you feel full up and may reduce the need to eat so much. Or if you don't like that or prefer a hot drink try drinking lots of herbal tea, but use sweeteners instead of sugar if you have a sweet tooth. Don't buy fattening food. Just keep healthy food in the house. That way at least if you are over eating you are eating less calorific stuff. Try buying lettuce, cucumber, watermelon. * all of these don't have many calories. Fill up with bread and pasta but don't put a lot of butter on the bread or any oil in the pasta. Try having tomato soup as that is not very calorific but will make you feel full as again it is liquid. Try not to eat just before you go to bed as when you eat at that time of night it puts extra weight on due to you being inactive (ie asleep). Avoid fruit smoothies, as contrary to what some people believe they are full of a huge amount of sugar and very high in calories. You only need a very small cup of fruit juice a day to get the Vit C you need, or much better go for an actual piece of fruit *but only one, such as one banana, or one apple per day. Also milk is very fattening so avoid things like lattes in cafes; they are crammed full of calories. Have an Americano or tea but don't have a milk based long drink.
Take regular exercise such a walking or gym or whatever you can manage. Don't snack on crisps or chocolate bars or nuts (nuts have plenty of protein but are very calorific.) Instead have good meals that make you full and don't snack in-between. Jacket potatoes are quite a good thing to eat but don't put butter on them and if you need to put mayonnaise with a filling just use the minimum amount possible as it is very fattening even the "Diet" variety, but try to avoid mayonnaise and butter. Also avoid ice cream as this is very fattening although it isn't very filling. If you can't eat like this and say prefer fries (chips) make sure they are the oven baked variety rather than fried in oil. Avoid cheese as this is very fattening and not very filling. Try instead tuna (with a very small amount of mayo if you have to), omelettes *use the minimum amount of oil to fry, toast (as this takes a long time to digest so will make you feel fuller for longer, (same as pasta). Don't go for "Diet" products (except for diet drinks) such as slimfast or specific diet meals as you will simply feel hungry after.
