Driving Test Failure.

I am a 30-year-old woman and my younger sister 24 passed her driving test first time. Whilst I failed the first time and second time was much worse with 24 minor faults, 2 serious and 1 dangerous. I feel bad though I am happy for her that she has past but being the eldest I wanted to pass first. It is making me feel somewhat of a failure as I have a teenage daughter. She started learning to drive before me and had extra lessons through my dad as he got her a car and put her on insurance to teach her on the roads aswell as she doing other lessons with driving instructors prior. Don't get me wrong I am happy and not jealous. I just wish I had passed too? It's been weighing in my mind any advice on what I may be feeling and what I should do to handle these feeling?

Hey I know the feeling - I grew up as one of six and there was so much competition between us all to reach the different milestones. I wasn't first to learn to drive (I sat seven tests - beat that!), but I was first to get a degree! I'm sure you have achieved things that your little sister admires you for. In fact I bet there are loads of things! :) xx

Yea your so right Suzie. I have intact had a kid before her (as you have gathered from my previous post), degree and my own place. So you are right, I never saw it from that prospective.

Thanks

Wow, it took you 7 times to finally pass your test??? that's awesome at least you stuck at it and passed in the end. this has elevated me and lessened my shame of failing my second driving test so terribly.

Though she may have passed her driving test first time. She did not have a child, degree or an apartment before me.

Thank you

Suzie

Good luck on your test if u haven’t taken it yet. The only reason why I was determined to take it so early because I remember many of days and nights in cold winters waiting for the bus for over 2 hrs with my Mom, bc she never learned how to drive. Feet, toes, hands frost bitten, crying from cold.
