We did it!!!!!!!!!

We did it!!!!!!!!!

The Shaw Mind Foundation are proud to inform you that we have achieved OVER 100,000 signatures on our government petition, calling for compulsory mental health education in UK schools.

It has taken us just over three months to get these signatures and a day before the petition deadline (cut short by the snap general election).

Before we started this petition, our little charity was told by a few other larger mental health charities that we would be lucky to get a couple of thousand signatures on our petition. We went ahead anyhow and succeeded.

None of the people at The Shaw Mind Foundation have ever worked for a charity before - but all of us have/had either had a mental illness or have a close family member with mental health. Hence our passion for change and our determination.

The next step is to get MPs to table a debate in Westminster. The snap general election makes for uncertain times, but we will still be fighting for our cause and will keep you all updated of progress.

May I take this opportunity to thank you all once again for signing and sharing our petition to make this happen. And please also ignore the fact that 'parliament' is spelt wrong on the image! :)

Kind regards,

Natalie Beggs (Operations Director, The Shaw Mind Foundation).
