I know how that feels. Whenever a Dr. orders a test or a medication for me that I'm skeptical about I always ask 'have you had that test, or taken those pills?' I always get a blank look and then when they realize I'm serious they explain more give me more information. I'm never confrontational there's no need to be and I follow their directions, but I never forget they work for me, and it's my body, my life.

You might say I wish it were that easy, we wouldn't have any depressed people then. Smile, don't let your crazy show. Pam

It's like telling a diabetic to go for a nice walk instead of taking insulin. Or an asthmatic to enjoy fresh air instead of using inhalers.

Yes, the outdoors makes me feel good in the moment, but it isn't a cure.

A while ago I went to see Ruby Wax's show on Depression and psychology, in which she does a Q&A at the end. The first guy to speak was espousing his opinion that if we all just ate healthily and exercised we would be fine.

Needless to say he wasn't popular. The next lady to speak pointed out that lots of us do both those things and still aren't well. She got a round of applause.
