Hi suzie :) thank you so much for asking, made me smile seeing the post...

I've had an anxious couple of days, feeling exhausted.

Saw my counsellor yesterday, as I only have a couple of sessions left and I am informed I have then had all that they can offer me, I asked her could we spend the session discussing my options for help going forward, I mentioned to her I may sink lower with no one to turn to and the sessions had been helpful, although I felt I needed something in the coming months to help me.

She suggested some things to me which will help. One of them is a retreat just a few miles from me, I can spend the day there, in beautiful surroundings, morning coffee provided, along with lunch in fact there are places you can make tea and coffee all day if you wish, I can go into the Abbey, this idea was mentioned as I had said sometimes I have nowhere to go when I have to leave the house as if I'm going to work. These days at the abbey have to be pre-arranged and there is a charge for lunch and the stay which is not a lot of money. You can also stay for a few days and they have talks, which sound very interesting. I am considering doing this, but want to try the day first. They have said I can meet with one of the monks to discuss the best ways to spend the day. All sounds quite peaceful. Unfortunately they are not open to guests in August but I'm booked in sept. I guess it's a place to go and quiet and peaceful.

She is also referring me for mindfulness sessions not sure what they will be like but I will try anything feel quite low today.

She is also going to speak to someone about me meeting them. For confidential chats on how I am doing. I guess it all helps to give me some hope in all this

I hope you are well always lovely to read your posts. I'm glad you are going to counsellor. They can be great guidance

:) ..yes I'm looking forward to the retreat. I'm booked in now for the day, in sept. they sound very nice.

Yes do look at mindfulness not exactly sure what it is myself, so I should google and check it out too. Thank you for your support sue so much appreciated...xxxxxx

Hi

I'm glad your counsellor was so helpful in thinking about possibilities for after the counselling finishes! The retreat sounds lovely, just what I would find helpful. It's reminded me that there are such places and I'll have a look on google myself!

Mindfulness is a really good approach which has good outcome rates so it's great too that you are being referred for that.

I find it helpful reading other people's posts as well, we all need support at times but we all can offer other people support as well and just reading the posts I find reminds me of both of those.

Take care,

Hi sue

I'm glad the retreat idea appeals to you. Yes it sounds nice. The posts really help,

I'm having trouble getting on to this sight at the moment. Seems to allow me on for a few minutes and then kicks me out. Frustrating as I feel I need it right now, I'm feeling so tearful and alone. One of my worse days. I'm sure I will be ok been here before but it's hard ....

Thank you for the response.

Thank you, I got in a state so rang mind....as a result I found out there is a drop in centre I can go to tomorrow, that has helped. At least if I can meet people it may help xxxx

Hi, that's great.

I've just volunteered as a befriender with the local branch of Mind as much for my own need to meet people as anything and there is a long waiting list of people who need befriending so it will help one of them as well.

I hope you enjoy the drop in centre, the people should be friendly there.
