HI Everyone, just listening to the Radio and this song by M People came on, I had not heard it for years, but its real helpful, we all have to try and find our inner strength. I just want to wish everyone a good weekend, I had a good enough week, my family are not close but my younger sister invited me for a meal with my other sister and we had a good chat, the only annoying thing was my sister X who is very inquisitive and a bit tactless, she started talking about my late partners funeral service.(yeah real cheerful) He will be dead four years in July, At the time of partners death my younger sister was abroad and didnt have a clue what she was on about. She was saying how one of his aquantances did a Eulogy about him and how terrible it was that he made him out to be vain and shallow I partly agreed with her but I could have killed her I didnt need to be reminded of this, as there is not a day goes by that I do not think of my late partner. Then she started asking me questions about his two daugters, she was just being nosy, as thats her type One of his daughters is divorced and lives near my sister with her boyfriend of six years. She asked " Is she married to that boyfriend " I said no she is not.. I wished I had had the courage to say I find all this very hurtful and invasive. But I Didnt want to ruin the evening and appear like a real Depressed type. Ah well, I Know my sisters type, even when I walked in I could see her staring me up and down at what I was wearing, thats the sort of person she is. Nosey and doesnt even try and hide it.

My other sister I think knew I was hurt as she has more tact, I have learned that I have to be more assertive in these situations, I dont quite know what the point of this post is, except to say I am very sensitive and find it gets me down when my sister is so vicariously interested in gossip. Its great to share here, as people are so down to earth and say it as it is. Apologies for rabbiting on about this, it probably makes no sense to others here, but I just need to say what hurts me.

All in all I had a good week and managed a walk most days, and made a real effort, so everyone be good to themselves and enjoy the weekend and hopefully some sun and fresh air.

Hannah xx

It makes total sense to me!! I'm sensitive too, and can't stand nosey people , prying making you feel uncomfortable...you coped very well..I guess it's a little easier because you know her :) ....I doubt they can help it, it's the way they are, and they don't realise what they do to sensitive people...

Sounds like your week has been quite good, I hope your weekend is even better x

It's wonderful that despite your sister's obvious lack of tact (which I would have fond very upsetting) your summary of the week is that it's been a good one. That's very positive. I hope you have a lovely weekend, too. Have you got much planned? X

So glad that you had a good week. Shame your sister is so nasty but don't let it spoil all the positives that you had. She really isn't worth wasting your energy on. Here's for another good week for you. All the best. xx

Do you know what I was thinking to this,,, this person has never been taught how to be sensitive to others( your sister) because everyone is being passively cringing,, at her lack of tact..

Maybe as we types, keep our feelings to ourself, quietly seething, at someone elses behaviour,,, making us,, depressed, because we dont say anything,,, we care too much.!!!

does she pay your bills,,,uerrrmmm no,,, shes hurt your feelings.

There is nothing wrong with saying,,,Dear I dont think its appropreiate, talking like this, I have come away to enjoy myself. Not tobe reminded, of a sensitive subject in this tackless manor. Please (smileing sweetly) lets talk of something else. that will do the trick lol lol,,, I can give you tips,,, or an ear piece if that would help you,,, lol lol,,,

kind regards x

Yes that is a very different way of tackling it, I think I need you there next time. lol ... Could be funny, she would be in shock, would probably take the wind out of her sails too. I tend to keep things in, I will keep this posting and remember it next time I meet her. I will rehearse it like an actress ( a bad one) lol .. lol.
