What happened with my phimosis progression?

So I have phimosis and have been slowly but surely stretching the skin using rings specifically made for this condition. It has been going well until recently. Seemingly overnight, the skin went back to what it was before I started stretching. What could have happened?

It is unfortunate that you have wasted time and energy on trying to stretch your phimotic foreskin. Anyone who has actual medical knowledge will tell you that this is usually a totally futile exercise unless the phimosis is only very slight - but even then one risks paraphimosis this way.

It is only the anti-circumcision activists who promote foreskin stretching as a way to cure phimosis. Any doctor would tell you that the only sure, immediate and guaranteed permanent cure is circumcision.

Circumcision is nothing to be afraid of as it has been proven not only to cure or prevent phimosis, frenulum breve and paraphimosis, but it provides up to 60% reduction in the risk of ever catching each of several STIs.

60% reduction is the figure that researchers found in respect of HIV/AIDS.

Subsequently, further research covering several other STIs has produced results for each of them of 25% or more.

I would agree, Nowhard. Jumping straight to surgery is not always the best option for many health issues.

I would seriously consider circumcision now you have tried stretching and it has failed you won’t regret it

Male Genital Mutilation ALWAYS removes the most sensitive, nerve-rich tissue on the male body ... so you want to have patience enough to complete the stretching job without causing yourself permanent physical harm.

Have you had an assessment to see if you have Lichen Sclerosus ?

What is your stretching routine. How long have you been doing it? How do you clean? Any unprotected sex with new partner?

I had this problem in my teens, it sorted itself naturally by tearing slowly over a couple of years. Never needed any circumcision operation and now I have the best of both worlds where I have a ‘hood’ over my head to keep it sensitive and protected when soft, but also it will retract completely when I am erect or need to clean it. I CANNOT understand why the medical profession hasn’t worked out how to do this too ! circumcision is butchery that will diminish your sensitivity and your sex life in the long run. Don’t do it unless there are serious medical issues that necessitate it.

It did for me. If i was you I’d leave it. If it gets infected or something seek advice, but sometimes letting nature take its course is best.

I had this condition when I was a teen.

I was given 3 choices

1-total circumcision

2-partial circumcision

3- steroids cream and a stretch devise

I was told that option 3 could take 1-2 year to completely work.

I chose 2 where they cut the outer ring to release tightness. It worked

I had a friend that was circumcised and wanted to restore it took him 18 month to get full coverage.

Stretching will work but will take time
