Circumcision on 8 year old 7 days post OP. Infection?

Okay so it's been 7 day since my 8 year old got his surgery I'm not really sure how to explain this but I'll try. I'm thinking he may have an infection on the bottom underneath side of his penis because is really red and swollen also he's had a fever off and on this whole week. the rest of it seams to be healing good. I'm just worried about the bottom part. I don't know what it's supposed to look like. I wish I could just post a picture so someone could tell me everything looks good but him being 8 years old I'm not sure if that's appropriate.

The bottom part usually is the most swollen, looks the worst and takes the longest to heal. However, redness, pain and a fever are quite potentially a sign of an infection and you should consult your doctor about him potentially giving you antibiotics (sometimes its a standard prescription in case it gets infected so you can just get it right away). I can't tell you whether it looks fine but if you are worried, it would be better to consult with the doctor that performed the said operation to have him examined.

Firstly you are right in not posting a picture. Your description sounds normal but the fever is not. Take him back to the Doctor as soon as possible. From personal experience he may well be in a lot of pain.
