Considering circumsision

Hi guys so I have suffered from recurring balanitis multiple times in the past and also had an infection where the glans and forskin swollen, I also had an issue when my frenulum tore during rough sex and noticed I lost a bit of sensitivity because of that, and had recurring skin tags but they gone now, I wash under my forskin and everything everyday but if I miss one day then my skin slowly going red under the foreskin maybe a rash but I am overall very hygienic, I don't want any of these penile problems back I chatted to my Dr and they said permanent solution is circumcision so I'm on the waiting list but that could be a while or I can go private and pay the Dr with a degree and performed over 10k circumsisions.

I am scared of complications as you hear about complete amputations of the penis or amputation of the glans, yes I read alot over the Internet, but if everything could be OK then I will have it, so I'm not sure if I should have it done. Please help

Thanks guys

Have you seen this: wikihow.com/Cure-Balanitis

You should remember that it is not impossible for circumcised men to get/have balanitis.

Your best option is to seek a referral to a dermatologist

Been to doctors and sexual health they give Steroid creams, it actually worked a bit but longer I use it the less effective, I just don't want no more trouble down there in the future it gets me down and depressed, I'm not sure if I should go ahead, if complications were not so scary I would but atm I'm 50/50.

Skin infections are best dealt with by dermatologists. Your doctor should be able to refer you.

I been to the hospital years back they gave me creams and I seen so many nurses and Dr's I'm used to being naked half way down now, they said I suffer from occurring balanitis and just keep using creams, it only ever started after getting sexually active and broke frenulum the problems down below started, and for info I got tested for stds and all clear.

You have had a terrible journey. Lots of penis problems are not as a result of STIs but it is also good to ruke them out. I still think that a dermatologist would be your best met to find out what is causing your balanitis. When I had it, it turned out to be as a result of a diabetes medication I was taking and when I stopped it tge bakanitis went away and never came back. Given you history, a dermatologist can take skin scrapings to find out what is causing yours.

Hi, I think a dermatological consult is a good idea, too, as the infection can be cultured, etc. to find its cause. Certain medications can cause infections (one of them being a newer class of diabetes medications called SGLT2, for example). Circumcision may be an option if your balanitis can't be controlled otherwise. Any surgical procedure contains risks but losing one's penis or glans is rare and that's why we hear about it more. Lesser complications can include pain, swelling, infection, bleeding, loss of sensation, hypersensitivity and more. Healing time varies by individual. Six weeks is a minimum but the healing process can often take much longer. Good luck to you in solving your issue.

I’ve had similar issues- never had any problem until I tore my frenulum then when it healed it’s like it completely healed over and I slowly lost a lot of movement now it’s very tight and gets irritated and mini tears from penetration. I seen a urologist who told me it was bxo/ lichen sclerosis and that there is nothing I can do about it unless I want to be circumcised… which obviously after being proudly uncut for 35 years isn’t really my ideal option. I also find doctors just suggest that as the only option predominantly being circumcised themselves. At this stage I’m still using steroid creams when it starts to act up, only using soap free body wash for washing, and trying to keep it dry and clean. Definitely feel where you’re coming from and have googled a lot as I’d rather know if it’s something I can fix once and for all by getting cut now to avoid future problems. Would be keen to know if you get any further medical advice which may help. I need to see another specialist but I’ve just put it off. Good luck bro.

Most urologists are surgery mills and love cutting people up.It's a power trip or feeds their narcissism, IDK.

The risks are many and unless you have a doctor who actually cares and takes measurements aroused and flaccid, while giving good post op advice and admitting if there were complications; you'll end up regretting it.

I tried canceling a circumcision I was blindsided with.

Dr. Sameer Malhotra with AdvancedUrology Medical Offices and the staff coerced me to go in, telling me I could cancel once there but if not would have to pay 75$ to cancel and room booking fee of 750$.

He and his nurse(190lbs) held me down and at first I thought it was so I didn't fall off the marrow bed I was told to lie on.

But soon I realized it wasn't the reason, he even said it was healed(I had been practicing better hygiene, even had sex) before telling me I was already there, there was no other information to give me and that I was just backing out because I was scared.

There was gross medical malpractice, criminal and medical battery as well as failure to follow commands, negligent advice after and 4 months later I'm still suffering from the complications(paraphinosis, blood infection, inflammation, constant pain; extreme pain sometimes and infections I have to be more careful than when I had the mild balanitis.

Worse when you realize other doctors are more concerned protecting the doctor than your health and that the insurance company will help stonewall you and time out any complaint/lawsuit you may think of filing as a result.

I was in and out of the ER the first month, was 3 weeks on antibiotics even though he knew I was on antibiotics the day he forced the surgery on me because efficacy an infection.

And medical review sites will not let you post an honest review.

Let's see if this one does but I doubt it will stay up(no pun intended).

A while ago now (in fact many years) I found my foreskin was tightening and I had several incidents of slight rash, skin looking cracked, and soreness. Since using coconut oil night and morning to moisturise my foreskin after washing, everything has been fine. I didn't like the scent of coconut at first, but now I'm so grateful that it's eased my problem, I love it! I'd be very reluctant to have a circumcision when often there seems to be a way of avoiding the seemingly multiple disadvantages and risks of surgery.

I’ve had similar issues in fact your story has been the same to me. In spite of regular (one twice a day) cleaning always issues with yeast, mold, redness, white dots ect. My doctor once said, very careful, that all this never actually occurred when a man is circumcised, and that that could possibly be a solution.

I took a few years to finally let it do, now a five years ago. In my case it has been the solition. I enjoy the fact being circumcised. It definitieve is a very clean solution, being always exposed to (clean) underwear it stays dry and clean. A bigg difference to the moist, sweaty and damp uncircumsized situation. Becouse the removal of my foreskin there is during masturbation maybe some lose of sensitivity, (in my case I guess 25%) but not in joy pleasure or arousal and in lust, and (my) orgasms are even better after circumcision. The wearing of a condom isnt such a probleem anymore, they fit much better now and sensitivity is really much better than uncirumsized.

Circumcision is a step, it gives you a few (bad) weeks of suffering and discomfort. But it's a good solution and worth considering!

I actually spoke to the Dr that was during my circumcision he used to work in the nhs hospitals and he now a privately run clinic by himself specializing in circumcision, we talked about risks and he said there is a chance of minor risks but no big devastating risks in his clinic, he got 5* reviews everyone says he's great and post op care is fantastic, he has done over 13000 circumsisions, even though he's that great I'm a bit put off for now I think I scarred myself by reading about glans amputation or complete penis amputation as final resort. So I will continue using coconut oil as suggested,as to the guy asking how was my frenulum fixed I went to A&E and said help my dick is snapped and they give me ointment and healed on its own but I do get a bit numb during sex now and then but not when I go full blown wank session.

Amputations? Oh my! I had mine done at age 70 last Oct and except for some discomfort, all went well. It took a couple of months to heal, but there was no serious complication. No more bilantis, phimosis or infections. I am cured and very happy with the results. Glad I did it. Just get a qualified, experienced doctor and trust him! Sex is different, but not diminished. Do your research. .

How long did you have to wait for the circumcision on the NHS ?

I also had recurrent irritations. I started with a frenuloplasty because I was not convinced about circumcision, although doctors suggested full circumcision. That helped the skin to be more mobile. But the irritations never really went away and I became dependent on creams, which slowly got less and less effective and became a cause of irritations as well. I finally got circumcised approx 4 weeks ago, because I could not take it anymore. Took me years to convince myself. I had put a lot of thought into this but at the end talking to a good doctor was the solution.
