Good Night to all, 20 yrs old and i'm having my circumsission tomorrow morning. Never been in a hospital for a surgery, they are going to give me general anesthesia and some back block that i'm not going to feel my legs, can someone tell me how is it going to be this process. Actually i'm happy that i'm going to do it but also scared cause of the recuperation.

I had mine a week ago and once you lay on that table bro it’s lights out. You don’t feel any pain at all and then when your out of surgery you will wake up in a recovery room and then when your ready they send you home. You won’t feel any pain for the first day bec they will still have the anestesia and the other pain medicine in your system. Then just keep taking the pain medicine every 6 hours for 2 days after to try and combat the pain. Then after 2 days take a shower and your bandage will prob fall off. Once it’s off apply cream a lot to keep it from sticking to underwear. And after a week your good just don’t be running around but you should be fine. I’m actually 1 week and 3 days post surgery lol so I just went through it. Good luck bro!

I had mine done 2 days ago (26, m). Apart from a little pinch when they put a needle in the back of my hand, I didn't feel a thing. You're a little dizzy for half a second while it kicks in then you're out.

Maybe you're 'under' as I write this. I hope all goes well for you this morning. Recovery can be nasty at the outset, but that phase oughtn't to last long and you'll soon be able to return to a normal existence. Good luck! Sine :)

Good luck please keep us updated on your progress.

Hey bud! I think you probably already are undergoing surgery, just wanted to give you a little peace of mind. Everything will go really well! The recovery process for me wasn’t that painful (I’m on day 21 of the recovery), it’s a matter of patience and following instructions regarding how to clean the area and take care of yourself.

At first you may be alarmed because you notice its swollen and maybe doesn’t have the right “shape” because of it, but don’t worry it goes down in a matter of days.

I recommend using tight underwear and sticking you penis upwards to help with it, also ice is super key to the recovery (apply it indirectly so over the underwear or over a small paper towel on top of the underwear) never directly to the skin.

Try to walk around the house from time to time to not be always laying down.

Take the meds and apply any ointments/creams they give you :)

Remember that upon any doubt you can talk to us! Or call your doctor, that’s what he’s there for! He’s also responsible for your evolution.

Lastly, just wanted to say that the recovery could take time so don’t lose patience. Up until yesterday my first stitches began to fall down by their own and today 3 more fell so it’s ok if your body also takes time like mine to get rid of them!

Oh and something that happens to everyone is you’ll notice a type of yellowish fluid on the frontal part (where the frenulum was) that’s normal, it’s secretion of lymph nodes from the procedure, it should dry up in a matter of weeks so don’t panic :)

Let us know how it all goes! :)

in reply to Santiago9324

That's a great response! Most helpful.

This reply took some anxiety off my chest, i’m going into day 4 so far is pretty rough on my end, my glans are so sensitive i can’t even touch them, when i use the cream my doc prescribed to me i put it on the gauze instead of directly on the penis because i just can’t handle it, and man it hurts putting on gauze and taking it off on where the frenulum was😬

Santiago9324 profile image
Santiago9324 in reply to knifegotcha

Yeah I understand that buddy! The sensitivity gets better as the days go by, it just takes a bit of time. Other than that it’s a matter of being patient :) I’m glad I was able tu ease your mind a bit, but also if you have any doubt no matter how small it is you should contact your doctor! I’ve been bugging mine a lot but I mean, that’s what he’s there for!

Ice pack can be useful on first couple of days, but not later on that.

Why not?

imgur.com/a/UtnrZzy

Wound temperature will decrease and can slow down the healing process.

Why to cover the wound until it's healed?

I'm already at home recovering, it is normal that my dick is inflamed and it is above the pee ring, I mean the head is out but it is normal that it does not look complete. I mean you can't see the dick ring because of the infalmation?

Im in recovery in home already, sit swallowed basically where the ferendullum is, is it going to be always like that for the few days? My penis is out like the head but i can't see the ring of my penis i don't know how to express it. Is it normal that half of my head is showing cause of the swallowing?

in reply to GotHelp_

I have not experienced this myself but what I have seen on this site it’s normal. How do did it go. Do you want to share your experience?

Santiago9324 profile image
Santiago9324 in reply to GotHelp_

Hey bud. That’s normal. Try to stay calm since it’s only been a couple of hours. That swelling will begin to decrease, use the meds they gave you and like I said, wear tight underwear, stick it up point towards your belly button and use ice for the first week :)

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_

But is that safe? Or should i be worried

in reply to GotHelp_

I think you should be ok.

Update on my circumsision, it all went well, the swelling is nasty and big but if doesn't hurt at all thanks god. I have gotten errections but all good, hurt a little bit but im so glad that i made this decision.

Until when the tip of the penis is going to get less sensitive? And when does it usually starts to look good?

Santiago9324 profile image
Santiago9324 in reply to GotHelp_

Hey!Sensitivity will be a thing for a couple of weeks. I was very sensitive the first 14-15 days aprox. After that time the body started getting used to the feeling and it got better :)

I understand the nasty swelling, but with the meds and ice it’ll definitely get better.

I know it’s hard to control erections, especially at night time, but you can maybe try by not drinking a lot of water before going to bed and sleeping on your side (like fetal position) could help a bit to “control” them.

Hope it all goes really well :)

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_ in reply to Santiago9324

Thank you a lot, it doesn't hurt. It hurts when i get an errection and my tip is extremely sensitive and i don't like that sensation. When i put boxers i prefer to stay naked because it's unconfortable. What do you suggest me to do?

Santiago9324 profile image
Santiago9324 in reply to GotHelp_

I totally get how uncomfortable it can feel, you just want to keep adjusting because you can’t bear the underwear. However despite that I truly recommend giving it an effort. I know it’s more comfortable to be naked, but the thing is, it’s very beneficial to use tight underwear in order to put your penis upwards, like pointing towards your belly button, since it helps for the swelling to go down as well as any swelling caused by the lymph nodes/fluids :)

It’s totally normal, but I encourage you to give it a try, it’s a matter of getting used to it and your body responds after a while.

Try to use bóxers that aren’t too loose, the better the grasp or the more “firm” they keep everything the better :)

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_

what do i recommend me when i sleep, it's my first day since operation this morning and they are extremely sensitive.I have swallowing in my frenulum back part of penis so i don't think it would be a good idea pinching it to my boxer looking to your bellybutton

Santiago9324 profile image
Santiago9324 in reply to GotHelp_

In my case I slept with underwear and adjusted it up like I mentioned and it worked.. I just had to sort of adjust it to where it didn’t bother because of the frenulum and it kind of worked... you could try wearing underwear that is tight but not too tight so it doesn’t press too hard at night, and try to sleep on your side, like fetal position so it’s a bit more comfortable and “protected”.

I know sleep in the first nights is tough, erections woke me up several times because they didn’t feel comfortable, but it’s a Matter of time :)

Do you know in how many weeks am i going to be painless?

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_

And when am i going to loose the sensitivity on my tip? Sorry for asking a lot is that i am a whimp for this kind of things

Santiago9324 profile image
Santiago9324 in reply to GotHelp_

Don’t be sorry it’s only natural! Everyone talks about the physical recovery but in my opinion this is also a mental journey of patience :) try to take a deep breath, it’ll all be okay!

Sensitivity for me was a bit high during the first week, after that it began to get much better. When I hit the 14/15 day mark it improved a lot and underwear wasn’t really bothering that much :)

Any pain caused by erections and even by touch should go down gradually as your swelling goes down :)

I really recommend avoiding any sexual activities or masturbating at all, i know it’s hard to resist but it’s better to give your bodh time to heal properly :)

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_ in reply to Santiago9324

Yes i know i can't touch myself JAJA, but when can i have sexual activity again? Or the urologist is the best person of letting me know

Santiago9324 profile image
Santiago9324 in reply to GotHelp_

Haha well, the recommended time is 6-8 weeks. I currently just hit the 3 week mark today so I’m sort of halfway there 😅. The important thing is for all the stitches to come off and give it time to heal so from what i know that’s the recommended time, but you can ask your doctor too :)

Sarmiel profile image
Sarmiel in reply to GotHelp_

As your nerve endings continue to die your skin will begin to keratinize, massively increasing in thickness. This will happen gradually over time and will permanently cover your penis from now on. As skin keratinizes your sensitivity will continue to decrease until you will barely feel anything from touching your underwear. This will obviously reduce sexual pleasure but you already were made aware of this before the procedure i assume. Should be a few months to finish keratinization.

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_ in reply to Sarmiel

Yes, my sensitivity is going down. Today is my 1st week post operation. It is still swollen but improving every day. I'm but naked i haven't put underwear yet.

GotHelp_ profile image

So helpful during this painful process, i will take all your recommendations.

Santiago9324 profile image
Santiago9324 in reply to GotHelp_

No problem buddy! We’re in this together! Lol I hope you get a good night sleep, don’t be alarmed if when you wake up there’s a bit of blood or anything, it’s normal for the wound to bleed a bit as it heals :)

I really recommend that for the first week you apply ice indirectly at different moments of the day, that would help a lot with the swelling and overall with the healing process :)

We can do it! Haha

Im feeling anxious about the sensitivity i hate it. How long does it lasts? Worst feeling ever, i can't sleep cause i'm worried and hate it when my glands touch a part of my body

HashiramaSenju profile image
HashiramaSenju in reply to GotHelp_

Bro first two days were HELL with sensitivity. Until I heard I had to keep it in tight underwear. Which was scary because even just a slight touch of ANYTHING is like surge of electricity. But it does help. Basically it keeps it still so it doesn’t really move much. Focus on getting the stitches healed FIRST. Then worry about sensitivity later. It’s been three days for me, so I’m just focusing on healing first. Wrapping it in a moist gauze which also helps with the sensitivity of the head too. We should keep each other updated!

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_ in reply to HashiramaSenju

I have them free willy, today is my 4th day post op and i sleep with my penis looking up. I had the gauze like two days and fell. The doctor told me to not put it again. So i'm basically naked in my bedroom. I still have pain and difficulty walking. And it's still swallen. I have not used underwear yet.

Im 63 and they say its painful at this age..it went thru and didnt hurt a bit and wound recovered fast. Its just the anxiety ...to imagine that the most sensitive part of your body will be operated upon...dont think...you'll be fine...

Ronaldo28 profile image

Mate you'll be fine. I was 31 when had it done by choice, I came out of the general bouncing around and having erections an hour after the operation finished ( Not sure that was meant to happen ) But anyway was almost painless, only pain was when one stitch leaked on a Sunday morning . My GP came in to the surgery from gardening and had forgotten his glasses. He proceeded to jab me with cauterising tool but being blind as a bat , he kept stabbing in all the wrong places over and over until he found the right spot. Apart from that piece of cake, more pain with a toothache.......

Hi, I had mine done a few months back and I just wore loose shorts all the time as I found that the most comfortable even for bed. My sensitivity wasnt bad at all and I was ok sleeping. Now its totally healed and pain free the only part which i can feel sometimes is right on the end around the eye but very rarely. The swelling took a while to go down and i couldn't see all of the glands even now when i go out in the cold and it shrinks the head goes in like a tortoise haha. And I looks a lot smaller than before I was done but now I wear a extender pro to stretch the scar tissue. Good luck you'll be happy when all heeled.

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_ in reply to Tony2514

How much did the sensitivity last to you? Cause i got my operation yesterday and i haven't slept yet cause i'm scared about the sensitivity, hate that feeling and it's extremely uncomfortable. What do you suggest me to do?

Tony2514 profile image
Tony2514 in reply to GotHelp_

I had a badge around it for a couple of days so it wasnt rubbing on anything , once that was removed mine wasnt to bad . I just keep on pain meds for a few days . I must have been one of the lucky ones as I didn't have much pain when it touched my clothing and I was comfy just wearing loose jogging bottom material shorts.

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_ in reply to Tony2514

Your extremely lucky, i can't even put clothes on because it stings like u know what i mean the sensation is very different

Vonsparks profile image
Vonsparks in reply to GotHelp_

Don't worry about the sensitivity. Just get yourself healed up and get the pain away. The sensitivity really isn't as bad as you think it will be, not compared to the healing process, which was by far the worse experience.

I didn't find it uncomfortable once i could wear clothes and sensitivity died down really quickly. Wearing tight pants or boxer shorts helps.

Vonsparks profile image
Vonsparks

I had my circumcision done last year, at the ripe old age of 31. You can't feel anything from the anesthetic, plus they give you premeds which also help. Once the anesthetic is in, it's lights out.

Everyone has a different healing experience. Mine was horrible. I couldn't wear underwear, sleep with a cover on, or walk for the first 4 weeks as it was very swollen, and kept bleeding all the time.

It has healed absolutely fine, and i was back in action after about 2 months.

Start the pain medicine straight away, and don't stop until the swelling has gone down and you can see that the wound has healed. Because once the pain is there, it's impossible to take away.

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_ in reply to Vonsparks

I can't wear underwear neither, today is the second day since operation and haven't slept because of it touching me. When can i put underwear without having that bad sensation. Also when do u stop feeling sensitivity

Vonsparks profile image
Vonsparks in reply to GotHelp_

It took about 4 weeks for me to be able to wear underwear without any pain. Once i could wear underwear, it only took a few days for the sensitivity of the glans to reduce to a comfortable level.

Good luck with your recovery my friend. It's worth it in the end.

Hey bro I’m on day 5. Let’s focus on getting our shlong healed first. Then worry about our sensitivity. My sensitivity is pretty bad too. I’m wrapping it up until it heals up. Then I’ll be doing a couple sessions of just massaging the head so it could get used to the touching. I know it’s gonna be uncomfortable as hell but sensitivity is definitely something you gotta push and do it. If we wrap it up too long it’s gonna take a while for it to get used to the environment. I heard people have had hyper sensitive penis for like MONTHS. But we got this bro!

GotHelp_ profile image
GotHelp_ in reply to HashiramaSenju

Yeah tomorrow is going to be my 5th day after operation i don't have my penis covered, i have it in the air. I've been in my room since monday after surgery cause sometimes it hurts not that it hurts it stings in my frenulum. And i can't walk so good. My sensation is getting better because like i told you i'm but naked and have it in the air. When i sleep it touches my skin so it's not going to be a problem for the sensitivity although the first 2 days where aweful.

The swelling on my penis was largely on the right hand side so it did appear to be looking in one direction. Even after thr swelling had gone down my penis would have a slight lean when i had an erection. This has since corrected itself and my erection is back to normal now.

You'll be fine. Keep it clean. The swelling and pain will be gone in a few weeks and you'll be much happier!

Does your nuts hurt after circumcission? It does not hurt i mean it feels uncomfortable and i don't know why, is it normal? And does your penis looks like it's turned because mine is turned to the left a little bit, is it because it's swollen?

I see, I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, Hopefully everything is okay.. I realized that there are some part of my head are getting sensitive back but not too sensitive to the point that it's uncomfortable. It is still swollen. I can barely pee straight.

Did u have a hard time peeing after your circumcision ?

GotHelp_ profile image

I didn't had hard time peeing after circumcision, i'm still sensitive at my 4th week, im wrapping it with toilet paper so when i use underwear the glands don't rub because it's a weird sensation for me. And bellow my glands it's still swollen but it's a long journey and u have to be patient. I want my penis to look great and i'm desperate to wank you know but i'm not doing it until my body tells me i can and follow your doc's instructions that is not masturbate or have sexual intercourse for at least 6 weeks
