White patches/discolouration on glans

Hello. 24 year old male here with problem that has remained for up to a year. Due to life situation, visiting GP is difficult so seeing what can be done in the meantime.

I believe this situation has risen from rough masturbation and lack of hygiene. I would masturbate multiple times a day without lubrication, for extended periods of time. I would not clean entirely afterwards. I have since improved greatly, but the problem still exists.

The tip of the penis, spreading from the frenulum to the sides of the glans, has whitened/discoloured over time. There are no bumps, nor pain, nor itching. I have ceased masturbation for a week so far, and noticed improvement, it's just not that quick at all. I believe I would have to cease for a few months to see better results?

My penis is uncircumsized. The foreskin is lighter patched as well, but I believe it is due to the rough masturbation solely. Stopping masturbation, the foreskin has improved the best overall. It is smooth and lacks any abrasions/fissures.

I was just curious if your guys' thoughts?

My past post was deleted for being in the wrong forum, so here's to hoping...

Could it be BXO or lichen sclerosus

Hi metallik it looks like you could have bxo or lichen sclerosus if it is that it is very important to see your doctor ASAP this is not something you should leave untreated for a period of time

In the meantime if it is possible to pull your foreskin back as much as possible to keep the area dry as the bxo does not like the dryer environment

See, I would agree. However, my foreskin is very elastic. As well, I find my skin tends to get worse if I leave the glans exposed for long periods of time. As in, the whiteness will actually expand/cover more area. Do you know of any problems that would arise from, say, the opposite causes that tend to lead to BXO? For instance, the area worsens with extended dryness, not the other way around. However, if I just keep it clean AND hydrated, it tends to respond favorably.

Just from the way I describe it, it seems the white may be a build-up of dead skin that never got to heal properly? Given I would introduce it to more trauma before it had a chance to properly heal over. In this case, would cessation for a few months ultimately lead to it clearing?

Yes, naturally a doctor would be best for this. As I said, unfortunately my life situation prevents it until further notice.

Of course it could be something completely different to bxo possibly a yeast infection in any case it would still need medication it does need further investigation from your doctor.

I don't think any man would be able to cease for a few months and I think they would also say it's not a area that you would want to neglect.

I think as soon as your life situation allows I would go to your doctor

Agreed. Thanks for the follow-up. Yeah, it's hard to maintain a week, let alone a month. I find it's possible, but the feelings get rather uncomfortable to deal with (my gut gets very warm and tingly and won't go away, progresses to terrible butterflies/anxiety unless I ejaculate)

Yeah it's hard 😂

Get yourself to a doc. You may be referred to a dermatologist and a biopsy may be required. If it is BXO, this can, in some men, lead to penile cancer

I think theres nothing wronf with it, sometimes when blood is not around the glans then can turn like white/pale color. If you press and hold for like 20 seconda then let it go it will help your blood to circulate in the glans. If you do not use condoms when having sex I recpmend to wash the area with antibacterial soap adn warm water. Also they thay you do not have sex if you see it too dry just ad a little of tripleantibiotic oitment

I think that will be Ballantis BXO.....you need to find time to see your doctor

hey Metallik, I have the same white smutch that you have in the same area and similar color and it doesn’t smell bad, itches or reddens, I have it since 3 years ago and I’ve checked with a doctor but they don’t realize what is it. A dermatologist one recommended me to use a cream named clobetasol, it has helped but the smutch continues being there after all. One day I was desperated and burned the area with a hot metal and during the healness of the scar I applied the cream and it seemed to help disappear it but it returned back, the doctors also said that they have to do a biopsy to analyze the tissue of my glans. I see that your post was 5 years ago, have you found out something to heal it?
